Hi there! I saw that you are my newest follower to my humble little blog, My Money Mission, so I thought I’d hop on over and see your blog. Wow!! You are one incredibly busy lady! I love your ideas about life in general and your ability to turn any negative into a positive!! You are so very blessed to have 3 children; don’t let anyone tell you anything different!! I would have had a dozen if I could; as it was, we adopted one and I was able to carry one full-term. Both are now teens, and boy, life is busy! :)

lol! I know exactly how you feel! I am 26 and I have two children and I have two step children. People just don’t get it when they look at me, lol. But I only have to deal with that during summers and holidays when I have my step children with me too. I don’t see what is so bad about having lots of children either. As long as you can take care of them and they are happy, to me it is much worse when people don’t want their children, nothing sadder in the world to me than a child unwanted and unloved.

My sister and I each have three children. We also go out to eat with each other and our kids about one day a week.

We walked into a restaurant the other day and the disinterested high schooler at the host stand said, “How many?”

I said “Two adults and six children.”

She says, “You cannot be serious?”

You are a cutie pie, Brandy.

I stopped at two kids, simply because I just knew I didn’t want to have to spread myself any thinner than that. (Remember, I’m #7 of 9 kids.)

I think it’s funny when people say, “What’s a blog?” or they just go, “MMhmm” when I say I’m a blogger. They have no idea what they’re missing, do they?!

It’s such a personal choice and it’s different for everybody. I know my limits and I would not try for another child (I have two). My brother has three children and they love it. For me, I know that a third child would stress me out (and in turn stress my family out)…But to some women, they have three and could have three more! There’s nothing wrong with that-but it wouldn’t be me! :)

Aaaahhhhh! What the hell is wrong with having 3 kids? Ugh! They’re just jealous with your happy family, that’s why. News flash girl, not a lot of “offline” people understand what blogging is, especially if the are no $$$ associated with it. And unlike us who do this for passion, they are probably living their lives like robots, doing routine work they probably don’t even like just to earn $$$. And being a virtual assistant for me is awesome since you get to work at home! I work from home as a programmer/analyst, and I just love being there with my family most of the time! But I still dream of breaking away from the corporate world someday and work on my own terms!

I guess all I can say is that, you cannot control or change what other people wants to say or think, but we can control how we react to these annoying circumstances. All of my “offline” friends (those I am close with and see almost every weekend, take note) totally abandoned me with my blogging stuff. No support at all! Not even a comment from any of them, and yet, they tell me they want my giveaways! So I just stopped talking to them about it.

We’re not in the business of pleasing other people. So let’s just focus on our passion, family and what makes us happy. And if these people cannot appreciate what we’re doing, the hell with them!

I have 2 kids so I don’t get that question a lot. I kind of get the opposite.Sometimes I think my family wished we had more kids, because I’m the only one out of my sisters that had kids.

No one in my family really gets the blogging thing either. None of them even read my blog. I stopped explaining it a long time ago.

    Thanks for stopping by.

I personally do not find an issue having 3 kids.
We too would have 3 kids if GOD permits. (am planning for #3). I feel that we shouldn’t be too bothered about other people and their opinions. You have a very lovely family and they are very fortunate to have you as their mommy.

3 kids is perfect if that’s what YOU choose. I think it’s just something for people to say that aren’t creative enough to talk about something else.

The blogging thing…Yeah, no one gets it. I felt kind of silly saying I was a blogger when I first started (a little over a year ago). I’d tell people I was a freelance writer, since I was getting some money from sposored posts I thought this was accurate and something they could understand.

Blogging is a GREAT outlet and the virtual friends are top-notch. I could never go back to NOT blogging!

Participated in the BD chat Thursday and started reading your blog. Absolutely love your post and totally relate. I also have three kids, work virtually, and love it! And no, many people who are offline, just do not get it, so I really do not even bring it up anymore. Like you, I feel I am blessed to be able to work from home and both my hubby and I made that choice so we could be the ones raising our children. I get comments all the time from family members about getting a real job and so forth, I just let it roll off my back. Oh and to add to the questions list, my last 2 children are exactly 11 months and 3 weeks apart so I get the “are they twins?” questions ALL the time. Then some people feel compelled to make coments about catholic twins, irish twins-whatever! I usually bite my tongue and my daughter (who is 7) will jump into the conversation and set them straight-SHE is the oldest. So, yeah, totally feel ya.

My kids are two years and nineteen days apart. I’ve been there. Sort of; I only have the two.

As far as I’m concerned, you are brave for going through labor three times. I didn’t have the guts (or the health) to do that; my hat’s off to you.

I know many families that have 3 kids, and I know a handful that have 4 or more. I always find it strange that people would comment about how many kids someone has. It is a very personal decision, and it’s very rude for people to comment on it. I have two kids, so I don’t elicit many comments, but my friends that have one child seem to get the most rude comments. Just think to yourself “it’s too bad that this person doesn’t have any manners” the next time someone makes a comment about the number of children you have.

Great video. I watched it while I was away on vacation and then got caught up so didn’t comment. But I can relate with ya. So many people don’t understand things about the lives we are creating for ourselves – whether it be work or kids or whatever. But as long as you let the negativity roll off your back and you are happy with the decisions are you are making – then everyone can just leave us alone right?
I do get looked at funny though when people find out I am pregant with #4 and will have 4 kids under the age of 5. I know they are thinking that I am irresponsible, especially because we don’t have much as far as money goes. We live in a 2 bedroom apartment. People look down at me. But ya know what…. I really don’t care. So many people have these big houses and nice things, but they don’t have the love of family. So if I have nothing at all, but have my family – then I am happy. I don’t care about the rest – though of course it would be nice… but in the long run – it doesn’t matter.

Anyway, thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Only 3? :) MANY people I know are having 3 kids these days; some are going for more. 3 is the new 2, it seems. We just sold out 4-bedroom Colonial and are moving into a 2-bedroom rental where we hope to put all three kids in the larger bedroom. Some people probably think we’re nuts, but I find that many people these days are looking to make themselves less “house poor” so they can spend money on doing things with their kids. Other people build massive houses so every kid can have a private bedroom and bathroom.

I think the most important thing is that you are happy and it doesn’t matter what other folks think. It’s not “wrong” to go either direction; just different people want to spend their money on different things they believe will make their family happier. Our kids are all under 5 and the rental is a short-term thing, but long term, we are hoping to move to a 3 bedroom house; two boys with bunk beds and our daughter with her own room. That kind of thing worked well for people of my generation growing up, but what do I know…I was an only child!
