How to Make Weight Watchers Work for You

For people looking to lose weight, there is a plethora of options on the market. Weight Watchers is one such program that has become quite popular over time. With its unique ‘Points’ system, Weight Watchers delivers what it promises in its title: enabling people to watch their weight. Yet, the program may not work for you. This may be due to the nature of the program itself but more often than not, customers don’t know how to make Weight Watchers work for them. This is something you need to know about from the outset so that there is no problem later on.

After all, what’s the point of starting a weight loss program that you are eventually going to give up on? Keeping this in mind, here are some pointers on how to make Weight Watchers work for you:

Maintain a Journal

From the outset, you need to maintain a journal of your progress on the program. As mentioned above, Weight Watchers has its own ‘Points’ system. You need to earn a certain number of points to complete the program. You have to keep track of how many points you have earned since you started the program which you can do by maintaining a journal. This will not only help you understand which stage of the program are you at but looking at the points you have earned will serve as a source of motivation for you.

Work Out

Now, this is something which is a must for every person following the Weight Watchers’ program. If you are not getting enough exercise, you might not lose weight as quickly as you expect to. However, this doesn’t mean that you have to spend a couple of hours at the gym every day. A light cardio workout is all that is needed. You can walk, cycle or jog for half an hour on a daily basis. Surely you will be able to spare 30 minutes regardless of how packed your schedule is. Once you join Weight Watchers Online, you will get access to a library of video exercise demos that will guide you to perform the right exercises.

Cook Yourself

You should try and prepare your own meals to eat while following the program. Weight Watchers will provide the guidelines regarding what you should eat throughout the course of a day. Moreover, you can find hundreds of tasty recipes on their official website. You can try them at home and make your own food. It is better to eat organic, healthy meals. Convenient though they are, packaged and processed foods don’t pack the same nutritious punch as the food you cook at home.

Shop with a List

Studies have shown that shopping lists clearly affect the shopping behavior. Make a list of the food items you are allowed to eat on the program so that you will stay within your allotted Points Plus. Having to remember the food items you need while you are out grocery shopping could prove to be a challenge. Therefore, make a list of the stuff you need. Also, add some pointers as to the variant of each item you have to buy. For instance, you might want to buy fresh meat instead of frozen. Leslie Fink, RD, has put together a useful Weight Watchers Shopping Guide.

Use Coupons

Coupons will make your weight loss more affordable to you. Weight Watchers has promotional deals all year around. Go to for the current promo codes.

Drink More Water

Last, but not the least, you have to drink more water. This is a tip that works for non-dieters as well. Getting sufficient fluids in your body makes you feel fuller for a longer time. As you don’t feel hungry every few hours, your food intake is reduced naturally. Plus, drinking water is necessary for your health and wellbeing. You should drink at least 8 to 10 glasses of fresh water a day. Water was the fountain of youth for a woman who claims that drinking 6 bottles of water a day took 10 years off her face.

These are some of the tips that will you make Weight Watchers work for you. As you can see, it doesn’t take too much effort to stay on track and lose weight. If you are apprehensive about the cost of the program, you can always find coupons online. Avail the discounts and follow Weight Watchers. Who knows, it may be the perfect weight loss solution for you.

Love From Child Far Surpasses Financial Success

I am sort of frustrated in a way about the catty behavior of some woman and men. I can not imagine that some men and woman look to a stay at home mother as lazy and having a lack of self worth. I am not a stay at home mom, I work from home but still, I am raising kids most of the time and working 4-8 hours per day so really I do Mom and household duties more than work duties.

I love making money, because I like to have a roof over my head, food on the table and a chance to actually do extra things with the munchkins, I can’t just stay at home and take care of the kids without earning some form of income because it’s just not something that I would feel satisfied doing. With that being said, I can say that the love from my children far surpasses any financial success I have.

To see the look on my children’s eyes when they hear me tell them how proud I am that they didn’t kill each other at the most recent grocery shopping trip or that they did an awesome job at something new, feels far more as a success to me than making $$. This is who I am, this is simply how I am built as a woman.

Do not get me wrong when I can make a decent amount of income in a short period of time, I feel proud and happy as well, but it’s a different kind of happy and doesn’t’ touch the heart like the positive responses I get from my children.

No money, job or career in the world could replace the satisfaction and busy life of a mom raising children!

Scales by Conair Weight Watchers Bathroom Scale

I recently received a Conair Weight Watchers bathroom scale to review which was awesome because my old school scale junked out on me. This is a digital scale that allows you to observe your body transformations on a more detailed basis. The Weight Watchers by Conair Glass Body Analysis Scale Model WW78 monitors not only your weight but also body fat, body water, BMI and bone mass for up to 4 users.

Results are actually really easy to read, so much so that my children have enjoyed using this digital scale versus our old school style scale that was hard to read. Our old scale wasn’t digital at all and was difficult to zero in when we wanted to “learn our number” {what my sons call their weight}.  The LCD screen is 1.5″ and has a tap-on activator to change various measure readings. The scale has a 400lb capacity which my five year old says “if someone weighs more than 400 and they step on it then it will say they weigh 400″ I had to giggle and reply “actually buddy if someone over 400lbs stands on the scale they may break it and Mama would not be happy”.

The scale is 12.2″ x 12.4″ in size and operates on 2 long-life lithium batteries that, yes, are included! The Weight Watchers by Conair Glass Body Analysis Scale Model WW78 is available nationwide at stores such as Bed, Bath & Beyond and Rite-Aid as well as at for an average retail price of $39.99.

Disclosure: I received this scale for free. All opinions are that of my own.

Nutrisystem Update Heading Into Week 7 #NSNation @nutrisystem

As I head into week 7 of Nutrisystem I have to tell you that I am down a total of 10 lbs. I seem to be losing inches more than weight which is okay to me. I recently got an ear infection so I have been sleeping more than eating, which means I wasn’t eating properly the past week. Basically my food intake decreased during my time of being exhausted from the ear infection and water intake increased.

I normally consume on average 1200 – 1400 calroies a day on Nutrisystem which seems like a big reduction in calorie intake. I love that I have learned what the right portion is for an adult like me and what types of foods to eat together to help boost your metabolism. I have a bad metabolism, I gain weight looking at a big fat cheesy burger.

Okay so no fattening burgers for me, and less ketchup with more mustard for me. Glad I don’t like mayo because mustard seems to be decent for you, minus the sodium intake!

I am proud to have lost 10lbs total with Nutrisystem through 6 weeks of the program and I do feel this is making a positive difference in my life as to what portions I eat and feed my children.

My exercise routine? Quite simply I walk about 2 hours four nights a week and I have been playing Just Dance 2 which is a totally awesome game that makes you sweat if you are in competition to win!

With Spring comes the thought of Summer being just around the corner and so a few of us bloggers have gotten together and are going to work on losing weight, getting fit and that means living happier & healthier!

If you want to follow along with me be sure to check out this category … I am doing Nutrisystem and 20 Second Fitness as well so those will be under other categories for the most part.

I am starting the Spring Into Shape event at ….

  • Weight – 216lbs
  • Upper Arms – 15.3″
  • Chest – 45.5″
  • Waist – 44.5″
  • Hips – 46″
