Blending Kids and Husband On Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day has traditionally been thought of as a holiday for couples to celebrate their love. However, once a couple forms a family, this celebration of love takes a new meaning. Mothers often want to make it a special day for their children as well as their spouse and finding a balance that includes details to make it special for each member of the family is important. Of course, moms cannot be forgotten on this special day, especially since they are the ones who often worry most about making sure each member of the family feels the love. Mothers Fathers […]

Celebrate Your Loved One All Year Round

Is it just me or does everyone seem to agree that we should not celebrate our love for one person in one day, it should be something we celebrate all year through? For me, Valentine’s Day has always been just another day. Never having celebrated, this year I did buy my special someone a cute, loving personalized mug but overall this is a day that hasn’t ever been celebrated by me. Some say Valentine’s Day is just a commercialized day, a day for people to be encouraged to spend money they don’t have to spend on random signs of love […]

Thanksgiving Dinner Thoughts

Thanksgiving Day has come and gone. This year I went to a fantastic feast at my Grandmother’s home where there were approximately12-13 people in attendance. Each of the relatives were to bring a dessert, snack or what have you because my Gram was only providing the meal portion of our Thanksgiving Dinner. There was deviled eggs, Ragu mini-chicken parm, cheese, crackers and well you know the normal snacks one would find at a family get together. Dinner was ready around 2pm, and this had to make me laugh because when I asked my Gram what time dinner would be on […]

My Idea For Kids to Survive Thanksgiving

This year I will be heading to my Grams for a Thanksgiving feast and my children are the only children attending this family get together. I remember I was one of many cousins plus my younger sister. We had kids to play with and hang with. The kids table ruled, but my children are the kids table, all three of them. This means Mama had to pull out all strings to ensure my children will have entertainment for Thanksgiving day. Miss Ki is pretty easy, the girl will enjoy attention from the fam chit chatting like her Mama with everyone, […]

Exceptional Teacher Goes Up and Beyond To Ease Parents Worries

Yesterday I wrote about kindergarten and who cried more because I seriously had a hard time with Aj’s anxiety when leaving him from the school but part of me really hoped the teachers would be able to get him adjusted. If they were patient and allowed him to slowly get used to this new environment I knew he would settle in, or at least hoped. I sat all morning that first day of school with cell and house phone right beside me just waiting for that call from the school. Worried sick that maybe the principal would be calling me […]

Kindergarten has Started: Who Cried Worse?

Now  I honestly don’t know if my son Aj cried more or less than me, but what I do know is I didn’t cry until I walked out of his classroom and rounded the corner. Listening to his screams and yelling for his “mama” made my heart just drop. I cried so hard that I could barely speak. I was laughing while crying because I had about three teachers tell me “he will be okay” and that “this will get easier”. I never cried when my daughter went to school, so having this separation issue with my son is all […]
