Buying a new house would be a really cool gift for your family and for yourself. Through hard work, there is no doubt that you can achieve this goal. However, we also need to be practical and take care of our necessities first. And most of the time, this happens to many people. They work, they get their paycheck and then they spend the money to buy their basic needs and pay their dues. And honestly, it would be too difficult to squeeze in a monthly saving for a new house.
If it’s impossible to save money from your regular job and your monthly dues are becoming overwhelming, we suggest that you find other ways like working on an extra job to earn extra money for your dream house in Australia or other country.
Instead of burning hours on Facebook and other social networking sites, you should find other things to do that could help you save for a new house.
Here are some ways on how you could earn extra money online:
- Write articles or blog posts – are you a good writer? You could use this talent to earn some extra cash. There are websites and clients online that look for good writers who can write articles, reviews or even blog posts about their company and products. This could be a good gig and it will also allow you to practice your writing skills.
- Design logos and banners – if you are the creative type then you can easily find some work online too. Most companies, especially small businesses, outsource their creative requirements like logos and banners. You can accept freelance work and design based on their requirements. This is a good sideline since you are not required to work on a specific hours. You just need to design and finish the logos, sliders, banners and others ordered from you.
- Sell some of your stuff – another way to earn extra money is by selling some of your old stuff. Do you have old clothes, bags and shoes you want to get rid of? Sell them online! You can post your items online and sell to interested buyers. You will not only be able to de-clutter your place but you will also earn some extra cash.
- Become a virtual assistant – you can also become a virtual assistant to fix client’s schedule, arrange files or other secretarial work. This kind of work offers good schedule. You can choose to work 4 hours a day only or more or less depending on your free time.
- Start a website – lastly, you can start a website and earn money through ads on your site. However, this option takes a lot of time before you see the profit. You need to work on your site first, gain readers and followers and then you can start putting some ads on your site.
These things will give you extra income and will help you make use of your time wisely and productively. Before you know it, you will already have the money to pay the down payment for one of the houses for sale in Melbourne, London, New York or any other best city in the world. You just need to work hard and be patient until you achieve your goals in life.
Love this especially since we are looking to move on up in the near future!
Hi Brandy! Cool post. 🙂 I don’t have to buy a house for now, but I’m always looking for ways to budgeting and have a bit of extra income than my freelance work, to fund my studies and non work-related projects. For example, I offered to draw artwork in exchange of Amazon Gift Cards on DeviantART, and I asked for donations on GoFundMe in exchange of a service (I can draw or write for the person who donates to fund my project). I feel we can get very creative when it comes to earn a bit of side income! Our talents are great assets.

Great ideas Brandy! I like the Virtual Assistant idea, never thought of that…
I’ve often thought it would be nice to have a part-time home in Europe.
These are some great money saving tips. I could sell some stuff and get money towards the mortgage.
Great tips. I know many VA’s and they help so much and actually make really great money without having the stress of a website. Thanks so much for sharing this list.
Really good tips. I do VA work for extra cash. It’s nice to be able to work from home whenever I have time.

Thanks for the tips, I really look forward to buying my own home, I don’t care if it was a small one as long as it’s mine 🙂
Working from home is very convenient for me. I love the opportunities it gives me like being able to meet the bus and go to parent teacher meetings.
Great tips! These are going to come in handy, I’m saving to buy another piece of land — I’m addicted to real estate!
