Fitness Friday: It’s Back ON

new-fitness-friday-button-copy I am back and ready to get moving forward to losing that weight and them inches! I have set a goal to be down to my preferred pants size within 6 months.  I am a size 14, 15 or 16 depending upon the brand which really isn’t all that bad after having three children who are 7, 3 and 1.  My preferred pants size is an 8, however, I will give myself some lead way and hope to be in a size 10 by June 28, 2010.  Follow along while I write every week for Fitness Friday hosted by Wii Mommies to help boost my motivation and hopefully share a success story in six months to show you all YOU CAN DO IT TOO!

This week is my first week back doing the EA Sports Active 30 day Challenge and here are my daily notes, this will be something I try to do every week on Fitness Friday, sort of like a journal of my week in exercise to include my thoughts and similar! For those who didn’t follow along last time I was doing this workout, in 26 days I had lost a total of 10″ doing this 30 Day Challenge and 5″ of that were off my mid section!!

Day 1: Feel the mood boost! I started with a medium intensity workout and got rid of those darn squats because I was finally doing great with them during my 26 days previously of the 30 day challenge but it took forever and since today was my first day back on the challenge I thought I better get rid of those squats on my first day because they can be a downer for sure! I burned 97.9 calories and exercised for just over 14 minutes and can already feel a change in my mood, increasing those happy thoughts for sure!

Day 2: Gosh this day was hard to do, the kids slept in until 9am. I have been in the habit of not having an alarm clock for a long time because it’s a safe bet that the kids will have me up by 7am at the latest and that’s good for me. Well not this day, nope not at all. It wasn’t until nearly quarter after 9 in the morning that I heard my door open and the kids woke me up! This made my whole day off and I didn’t exercise until 1pm in the afternoon, ugh! Oh well I did burn a total of 196.9 calories and worked out on medium intensity for just over 26 minutes. What a workout, I sweat, I ran out of breath and I loved every moment of  it!

Day 3: I didn’t want to get on the Wii today I simply wanted to sleep all day yet again. I think the children being up all night, and oh not the three year old, it’s the 1 and 7 year old who can’t seem to sleep through the night. DD had ear ache, have to get her a doc appt and the 16 month old, well he is just plain spoiled & is in the habit of getting in my bed mid night, have to break that for the New Year! So today I did my medium intensity workout and I didn’t remove any of the 16 exercises … after 21 minutes of a work out I found myself sweating but feeling great! I burned 137.5 calories and even got a trophy for 200 swings in Tennis .. yippee!

Day 4: Feeling the sweat and that is just a gross feeling, good thing I do my EA Sports Active workout before my shower! Today it took some motivation to get up and get exercising, but I did it! I burned 142.2 calories today in a little over 18 minutes and boy did I do some running today on the track, felt great! I love that my 1 and 3 year old “run” with me every time that exercise comes on .. too cute!

One thing I wish I had received for Christmas was EA Sports Active:More Workouts, I have heard great reviews about this add on and can’t wait to get it some day in the New Year!

So what have you been doing to continue your fitness goals or start getting them on track again? I would love to hear!

Make it a Happy Day!

Hey Brandy! This is great, I’ll be right there with you, but don’t do it too quickly. It too me all of 2009 to go from a 14-16 to a 10, and I’m glad I did it slowly. But I’m not done yet, so I’ll be following along with your Fitness Fridays!

I’m totally with you to a more fit and healthier 2010! My kids have been doing the Wii fit with me, and jump rope when they wake up everyday. I’ve been walking on the treadmill (on top of walking the dog 3 times a day), though I easily get bored with the treadmill.

My goal is just to get moving, improve flexibility and incorporate more strength activities. I’d like my workout routine to be more in line with my lifestyle. Something that comes with whatever I do daily, though I’m still really, really tempted to join the gym. I really miss group workouts, I do better with that. Let’s see if I would finally go back this year :-)

I’m having a hard time with that myself. I keep telling myself I’m going to set my alarm befoe the kids get up and get to it, but I always inevitably hit the snooze button over and over and over again. I’m addicted to it!
