{Date Night} Smitty’s Dinner & a Movie Tilton, NH

Kid free weekend had arrived and it was time for a little bit of adult time, whatever shall we do? Sunday is our usual random road trip day, but Saturday we wanted a bit of time to have a date. Not sure what to do, I went to Google search to find creative date night ideas for couples, some ideas were cool but then it happened … my boyfriend started watching a preview of a movie and while I was told not to look, I heard the sounds coming from his PC. The movie was The Night Before and it sounded hilarious! My boyfriend asked if maybe I wanted to go to Smitty’s and of course I said yes, I’d never been to Smitty’s before but have  heard great reviews from those who had been.

We hopped in the car and went on a little adventure before the movie, with my horrible direction skills we ended up in the area a wee bit earlier than planned. This was okay, we tend to roll with the punches pretty well and decided walking around the Tanger Outlets in Tilton, NH would allow for some time to pass before The Night Before started. Hand in hand we ventured along the strip of Tanger Outlets looking at Eddie Bauer clothing, Levis and much more; it was almost a walk down memory lane for us as my boyfriend realized that most of the clothing stores here were from the era he grew up in, with a little bit of memories for me with Levi’s and Champion Brand outlets. I loved watching his face as we looked at clothing that was far too expensive to purchase and just listened as he shared stories of his younger days.

Once our trip down memory lane and window shopping was over, we hopped in the van and took off for Smitty’s which was located just down the road in Tilton, NH. Upon walking into the theater area I noticed it felt much like a conference room with comfy chairs and long tables setup throughout the theater. You pick a seat then receive a menu where a waiter will come around asking for your order, what a fun twist on date night; dinner and movie combined! Then it happened, the lights dimmed and the movie was about to start.

The Night Before was beginning and we were sitting there across from each other at this conference style table enjoying some good grub and laughing our butts off at the movie! I tell you Seth Rogan is hilarious in this film, I was crying from laughing so hard. As tears rolled down my face from laughter ensuing, I realized that for a brief moment I had forgotten we were even in a movie theater; that is how comfy Smitty’s Cinema is!

If you’ve never been to Smitty’s Cinema before, I invite you to experience it with your family or loved one because it really feels as if you are at home, in your man cave, all relaxed for the evening with some fantastic appetizers and a meal! Oh and The Night Before? That was a hilarious movie, if you are an adult that enjoys that sort of off-the-wall, open-minded sense of funny as much as we do!
