Today’s post is sponsored by Poise, by my love for their LBL products is all my own!
When I first signed up for this campaign, I had a little giggle, how will recycling your period pad go over; will readers be like “Brandy has lost her mind” or “what in the world is this woman talking about?” … then it dawned on me, this topic is so right up my ally. I enjoy being creative so why not get creative with your leftover, unused period pads? Poise free samples can be used for more than just LBL {light bladder leakage} and your period!
As we gear up for Summer break, I will be found at the beach, on hikes and out there in the great world we call our world here on planet Earth! This year I plan to be more active and after having three kids, getting older and gaining a bit of weight my bladder has taken a hit, experiencing LBL doesn’t have to be embarrassing with Poise Thin-Shape Pads:
Designed to move with your body, new Poise Thin-Shape pads feature Super Absorbent Material (SAM) and a Thin-Flex design for extraordinary protection that’s still 3x drier than period pads† to help you take care of leaks with confidence.
Just as no two women are alike, there’s no single reason that LBL happens. Some of the most common things that lead to uninvited leaks include:
- Physical changes from childbirth, pregnancy, hysterectomy or menopause
- Being overweight
- Complications from surgery, stroke, or chronic diseases like diabetes, multiple sclerosis (MS) or Parkinson’s disease
- Bladder or urinary tract infections
- Bladder irritants (certain foods and beverages)
I have seen many others use their leftover, unused Poise free samples to create odd crafts; sleep mask, home decor and even a cushy tea cozy! If you look on Pinterest, you will find many craft ideas for using those leftover, unused Poise free samples.
What do you do with your leftover, unused period and LBL pads?
Lucky for me, I have never experienced bladder leakage. I know I am in the minority, so I definitely consider myself lucky 🙂
I do not suffer from this but never the less some great ideas on how to use the leftover ones :).
I definitely took advantage of these products during pregnancy. I haven’t had many issues since then.
That’s a really cute little clutch for the pads. Luckily, I don’t have to deal with bladder leakage.
No bladder leakage here except during my last (6th) pregnancy! But I’m so glad there are things like this for those times!
I have never had to deal with bladder leakage. I have a friends who son used them for bandages when was playing war.
It seems like Poise has some great pads. What a great way to take care of LBL. I didn’t know there were so many causes.
I had no idea there was use for them after being used at all! I always threw away my period pads. I will have to check this out!
I had no idea some of the things that caused leaks… very informative post, even if you weren’t sure what all your readers would think. I read it:)
I never really have unused pads since my oldest is now experiencing lady time and my younger daughter is sure to follow soon. A free sample or two could definitely come in handy around here!
LBL is a problem for so many people. I’m glad that it’s being talked about now, maybe it will lose some stigma.
I think I still have some pads. I keep them just in case.
I am typically pretty creative, but I have no clue how to recycle or reuse them. I’ll have to check out the Pinterest boards to get inspiration.
Pregnancy sure does a number on your body. It’s great there are such amazing products to take care of the side effects no one tells you about!
I didn’t know bladder leakage was so common! Recycling is such a good idea!
If i had any pads i wasn’t going to use anymore i would donate them to a women’s shelter. They are always looking for donations. There are some really creative ways to recycle them.
I think it’s so great that there are discreet products like Poise for those who suffer LBL. I hope I never need them, but if I do, I am glad there are great options!
I’ve seen some recyclables going around too. I saw one gal use them for knee pads. Ingenious for work on concrete floors.
This is such an important issue for woman to learn about! It’s caused by so many things at so many different ages and it can be scary if you don’t understand why
I have been lucky not to need a pad for leaking. So many women have issues.
I have used them for dusting. They are great for that household task.
