I am the mother of three children so I know all too well how costly it is to raise children, between feeding them and getting the best education possible for them it can get pricey. That is why I am always on the look out for Mothercare discounts because as a work from home Mom, I know Summer is coming which means a house full of kids more often than normal. I still have to work during the Summer time so I need to find someone to care for my children while I work. The best way to do that, in my opinion would be to find a mothers helper that is younger and can come to my home to play and feed the children while I am at work in my home office.
Never-mind just finding someone to watch my children this Summer but to also ensure that they have enough Toys for kids to keep them busy while said baby sitter is taking care of them, that is another issue. While I am a huge fan of outdoor play and using your imagination, there are many toys for both inside and outside that encourage more use of imagination and creativity within your children – those would be the sort of kid toys I would be looking for when warm weather starts to shine through in New Hampshire. I love that all three of my children plus the boyfriend’s children can enjoy doing many things together, given that the age ranges are from 13 down to age 4, they still can enjoy some of the same things inside and outside together. When children of all ages can get into the same activities together it makes it easier to be a work at home mom and entertain the kiddos.
While I am really thinking and talking mostly about Summer time, there is going to be a quick turn around between Spring to Summer to Fall when school is back in session. I am lucky in that my youngest will be in Kindergarten this upcoming school year and Kindergarten is all day. I will not have to look for various ELC codes to save on Early Childhood Education because the K-man will be in public school, which is free to attend. The only cost I shall incur with this upcoming school year shall be to provide a cold lunch {as opposed to the school provided lunches} for all three children instead of just two. I do not mind the extra cost of having to provide a cold lunch for my children because that way I know what my kids are eating and I found with the school provided lunches my children were putting on weight quickly.
Whatever position and stage your children are at, heck even adult children seem to be costly to some parents, I say just be aware of what is out there for discount vouchers because you would be shocked how much you can save on various family and children things if you simply research online a little bit. I always say “I have all the time in the world but not that much money”, which means I am all for spending as much time researching ways to save money while raising three kids if that means I can save some.
No one ever complains about saving money, that’s for sure. 🙂
We pack lunches here too…except on the day there’s chicken nuggets for the little one, then he must have a hot lunch (kindergartner’s orders 😉 ).
