The kid-free weekend had arrived, whatever should I do that involves getting a change of scenery? Well Mike and I weren’t sure, so we talked a bit and had our regular conversations about happiness, positive thinking and all the other topics we end up discussing. I love how much we have in common and can hold a fantastic conversation on any topic from life to business; but then it happened. We wanted to get out and do something. My coworker had mentioned the Kancamagus Highway in New Hampshire, she was going to ride it on her motorcycle with her husband on his motorcycle, I thought maybe the NH foliage would be great up there. Mike thought so too, so off we went …
First things first, we needed some Dunkin Donuts coffee, hands done. We ventured to the drive up when Mike proceeded to tell the drive up window lady that he has an allergy. What came next, I would have never expected, “I’m allergic to bullshit” … I died of laughter and so did the drive up window lady. It was hilarious. Always making laughter appear wherever he goes. Coffee in hand, him driving … we were off to hit Lincoln, NH on a Sunday adventure road trip.
Shown above is me laughing my butt off because Mike had just given me an example of how good of a driver he is. I was wondering what the heck a porn star had to do with being a good driver? We busted a gut laughing, full belly laughter whenever we are together. I love it.
We ventured on, found this scenic view stop and took a ton of photos. I am loving all of the pictures we both take, because when he is back home in New Boston, I enjoy looking at the photos and smiling about our times together. Shown above is the view we had, he took so many dang photos of me and when he posted one that said “beauty it it’s best, on the phone”, I melted. Never have I been treated so good by a man before, the love – the compliments – the kind gestures – it really is wonderful being treated well and being appreciated for both inner and outer beauty.
While we had a fabulous time; I think what led us to have the adventure of a weekend was getting pulled over by state police and nearly running out of gas part way up the Kancamagus Highway. The state trooper pulled us over and wanted to know why we were so far from home? Of course, Mike tells the officer that we are in love and out taking a drive to spread our happiness. Which really is kind of true; every place we went to and left? The people were smiling and laughing. Mike and I just have that affect on people and it really is amazing! Mike then had me turn around and show the police officer my website URL that is on the back of the hoodie I own. I have never had a man who shamelessly promotes my blog nor is afraid to admit our feelings to anyone.
Mike took a photo of another couple then asked that couple to return the favor with a photo of us, happiness just radiates off of us when we are in each others presence. It really is the best feeling ever to find that person where happiness just radiates and multiplies when you get around them.
After all of the photos taken at the scenic view, we were off and ready to go up the Kancamagus Highway …. yeah. No. This is where another part of our adventure began, you see, we put some gas in along the way but not so sure we accounted for the uphill drive and when we were part way up the highway, in the middle of nothing but mountains; we had the gas light come on. It was dark. It was beautiful but that gas light? Not so pretty. I laughed. What can you do? Mike made the decision to turn around, that way we were coasting downhill versus uphill if we ran out of gas, we could have some hope in making it to a gas station.
Upon turning around, we decided to make the best of the adventure and grab a few photos, sadly we couldn’t get a good photo of the moon from up in the White Mountains, we really need a DSLR camera, but we took what we could take and above is the photo of us at a pull off on the Kancamagus Highway – making memories and laughing all the way.
I fully enjoyed our Sunday road trip adventure up in the area of the White Mountains, we really just had a fabulous time – state trooper and gas light being a part of it and all. I believe that the events that happened made our road trip all that more memorable, to be honest! I hope to go back up there the next kid-free weekend when maybe the foliage will actually be out and beautiful. Hopefully he takes me up there again … life is an adventure, live it and love it!
Wow. You sound sound happy and in love. That is great that you make each other feel so happy and that you share that with others you meet… even police officers! I love that he is proud of you having a blog too.
That view is truly beautiful. I have never really seen mountains before!
