CheapSally.com Announces Six-Figure Contract for America’s Best Couponer
“Bring Home the Bacon” Contest to Award Winner a $100,000 Contract
SAN DIEGO, CA (August 8, 2011) – Beginning September 1st, 2011, leading national coupon website, CheapSally.com, will be on the hunt for America’s top couponer. Savers from across the nation will be invited to enter Cheap Sally’s “Bring Home the Bacon” contest for a chance to earn a $100,000 contract for 2012. On December 28th, 2011, CheapSally.com will announce the winning person, who will be rewarded with a six-figure contract. Throughout 2012, the winner will earn his or her contract simply by sharing couponing expertise through the Cheap Sally blog.
“Everyone loves a deal and we have made digital couponing as easy as ever with CheapSally.com,” says CheapSally.com founder, Dylan Whitman. “We also know that bloggers have become increasingly influential, which is why we launched this contest. We are excited to reward one of America’s top couponers with a six-figure contract. This truly is the deal of a lifetime.”
In 2012, the winning couponer will blog about news within the couponing community, and money saving techniques on the Cheap Sally blog. Although it is being billed as a “dream opportunity,” the actual responsibilities will only take a few hours a week. The winner will not need to discontinue his or her current employment or relocate.
“Bring Home the Bacon” will consist of four different phases. Throughout the phases, entrants will be voted on by the public and will also compete in several challenges. They will also be asked to prove their online couponing ability by finding the best deals through CheapSally.com. The contest phases are as follows:
Sign Up Phase: August 5th to August 31st
Contestants visit CheapSally.com to sign up by inputting information into a short profile page. Contestants can sign up after the start of round one, however, the earlier they sign up, the more chances they have to acquire votes. (Hint: contestants may want to create a YouTube video before entering. Posting a video is optional, but recommended, for submission).
Round One – Initial Voting Period: September 1st – October 31st
To acquire votes, contestants prompt fans to visit their profile page on the Cheap Sally contest website. Fans can vote for one contestant, from each state, per day. Cheap Sally officials will determine the top five contestants in each state, based on number of votes, to move onto round two. Contestants may receive only one vote per day from the same person, however, voters can cast votes for the same person each consecutive day.
Round Two – Top Five per State Voting Period: November 1st – November 28th
Cheap Sally officials will narrow contestants down to the top five per state, based on number of votes. Note: All votes cast on Black Friday (11/25), and Cyber Monday (11/28), will count double for each contestant.
Round Three – Online Sourcing Contest: December 1st – December 21st
Between December 1st, 2011 and December 21st, 2011 Cheap Sally will activate daily contests, challenging finalists to identify the best combination of the lowest retail price and the greatest discount, using coupons from CheapSally.com. Each day, beginning at 12:00am EST, Cheap Sally officials will announce a product category for the daily contest; contestants will earn points each day based on the following:
· One point will be awarded for each dollar below the highest retail price that the contestant submits as the retail price.
· One point will be awarded for each coupon dollar submitted.
Each day the points earned will be added to the contestant’s cumulative score.
The grand prize winner of “Bring Home the Bacon” will be the contestant who receives the highest combined score during the 21-day online sourcing contest, and will be announced on December 28th, 2011.
CheapSally.com first introduced the “Bring Home the Bacon” contest at the Cheap Sally Dance Party on Friday, August 5th, 2011. The Cheap Sally Dance Party was an exclusive event held at the annual BlogHer convention in San Diego, California.
