Many want to know how those who make money blogging make their money. Reality is making money with blogging means having multiple ways to make money. You can start with simple to install ads such as Google Adsense, Amazon Affiliates, or Project Wonderful.
Once you have started with those basic options you can now move onto creating content for you blog. You will want to have at the minimum one blog post per day. Google indexes your website and the robots will eventually pick up on a regular schedule your site has for content, so if you are a blogger who only ads new content once every few days then Google bots will eventually only come to your website based on what your writing habits are.
I personally try to write content every 6 hours, but I do not always have this matter of fact schedule. The reason I can get away so to speak with every 6 hours is because I don’t cover one niche topic, I am all over the place from working at home, parenting, personal posts, to giveaways and product reviews. I enjoy s haring my wide range of knowledge as well as personal habit of changing my mindset to positive in hopes that I am helping someone somewhere learn to be more happy & positive.
Once your Google Page Rank hits 2 or a 3 you will start finding many people will be willing to work with you on paid blog posts. These are usually very easy and are simply companies who want to have more “link juice” on the Internet. What you end up charging per blog post is usually up to you, however, some companies have a set budget and it could be as low as $10 per blog post. I am strict on who I will work with now and who I won’t work with. I am also pretty set on my rates for the most part.
When you are just beginning you can do trial and error to determine your “worth” for a paid blog post. Start big, start little, whatever you are comfortable with. Eventually you can get paid text link ads, sidebar image ads and add CPM ads to your sidebar (more on CPM at another time).
The best way to start making money blogging is to:
- Find your niche
- Write one post at a minimum daily.
- Share your writing on Social Media outlets such as Facebook & Twitter.
There you have it, my tips. Can you share some of your money making tips for bloggers?
What do you charge for a blog post? And how do you feel about “guest posters”?
DAWN
Charge depends. Guest Bloggers are great! Email me if interested!
I have noticed that you always have several new articles when I come to visit – you are like a machine! I do good to post every couple of days – I need to get on top of it for sure! Thanks for being a motivator for me! 🙂 I am doing the 31 days to build a better blog with the SITS girls starting in June and I’m hoping that will help me with a big motivational boost too!
That is a great program! I have done half of the 31 days to a better blog. I do plan to go through it more and maybe post it. SITS rocks too! Didn’t realize they are doing that in June! Will have to follow along! I am glad I am a motivator! Keep moving forward!
Those are great points Brandy! I WISH i had the diligence to schedule the posts every six hours, I just post when I have time. I know it would be better to be regular but ahhh my life is never regular.
Well you do a great job because I LOVE your blog!
Great tips Brandy! It’s too bad GPR doesn’t update more often so those of us that are still sitting at a BIG FAT 0 could have a chance. Either that, or hopefully companies will stop relying on that one of these days. That said, I still make decent money off of sponsored posts…not enough to quit my full time job, but enough to justify not getting any sleep. LOL
I often wonder why it is that others have a page rank of 0… and some forever it seems. Maybe some SEO added in with SEO plugins would help…
I’m with LeeAnn and still a 0 but I’m slowly starting to find paid ops, it just takes looking and patience.
Yes def patience! Keep moving forward Kelly!
Every 6 hours, WOW, I’m lucky if I get 2 done a day lol… Great tips!
LOL Yeah most times, not always. Depends on how back logged I am and what I have on the plate for topics.
