  1. I am a Virgo. I would consider myself 100% like my sign. The worrying, the over analyzing just to name a few. I am not changing it, lol. I think it has do with where the Earth and Sun were aligned when you were born too. I remember when I was huge in to horoscopes and I figured out my moon sign and my other sign I can’t remember what it is called now but I was a Virgo for all of them. The other ones are like what kind of other personality traits you have or something. I think they are fun to think about but I’m not changing it. I don’t have any tattoos and a virgo tattoo would not be top on my list if I ever got one.

  2. I went from being a Cancer to a Gemini. I’m a textbook Cancer…. no way am I a Gemini. I feel sorry for the 13th Zodiac people though… WTH?

  3. I was a scorpio, but nothing about that fits me at all. My ex is also a scorpio & it describes him to a T. I am now a virgo too, but that doesn’t describe me at all either. I’m not much on zodiac signs (never read my horoscope), so it doesn’t matter much to me anyway. I wonder how they determine the “personality” of those signs.

    1. LOL Thanks for stopping by Erin. I was heading to that CNN article but had forgotten about it so thanks for the reminder! Happy Friday to you!

  4. My dad apparently is now an Ophiucus, whereas my sign didn’t change at all. However, I am no where closer to my sign and people have a hard time believing I am a Leo. If there is a constellation named Suinus Perversus, then that’s more like it.

  5. I also am now a Gemini instead of a Cancer. That’s OK, I was never thrilled with that crab symbol anyway. For me, I will only affect which horoscope I read when glancing through magazines at the dentist’s office. Beyond that, it certainly won’t matter.

    1. Hi Tina! Thanks for stopping by, happy to see a comment from you! I agree it won’t matter much to me either. Just curious as many were so upset over this.

  6. Though I know astrology is based on sun-star alignments, I’ve always related to people and their signs in a more earthy, seasonal sense. I’ve always identified with my Piscean self as one who recognizes the traits of other signs and see the value of such diversity. Here’s the trouble: that adaptive, open-mindedness is really a Piscean/Gemini/Virgo/Sag thing and not an Aquarius trait — the trait I would now be categorized as. So if I refuse to recognize the new system, does that just confirm that I’m more fixed like an Aquarian? If I start to recognize myself as an Aquarian, does that mean I’m acting like an adaptive fish?

Well, I’m here to tell you it’s a lot more complicated than that. We are not just representatives of our sun sign just as there are not only 12 human molds (sorry, Battlestar Galactica fans). In astrology, each planet and the signs they fall under at the time of our birth are meant to have an affect on our personality as well. Throw in nature and nurture and you’ve got a very unique mix that no one sign will cover.

So someone whose hooked on the whole astrology mess either just had their notions challenged or confirmed depending on whether atrology has been a crutch for them (expecting the stars to define who they are) or a way of facing challenges (serving as constructive criticism that helps them grow). Frankly, I giggle at the idea of a fundamentalist astrology. We are not here to be defined but to define ourselves. Perhaps relating to the Aquarian traits would give me a fresh prespective on life. I accept the challenge.

    1. What a great comment! First thanks for sharing your opinion, I truly appreciate it as well as understand what you are saying! Well said!
