Have you ever heard that saying “you are what you eat“? Well how about you are what you feel? I have always told everyone you are what you feel, if you feel like a loser, then you will be a loser. If you feel like a winner, then you will be a winner. Who determines what it is we are classified as in life?! It’s an easy question with a simple answer:
- YOU are the only one who can classify yourself.
- YOU are the only one who can determine where your life will lead.
- YOU are the only person who can choose to change.
- YOU are the only person who matters.
- YOU are the only person who can make yourself feel a specific way.
Life throws us all sorts of curve balls, it’s a matter of whether you will duck from them and move forward or if you choose to get smacked in the face by them. I made a decision years ago to swerve those curve balls and I will admit a few of them hit me smack dab in the face and I fell down quite a few times. The thing that made me stronger and will make you stronger too is being able to fall down and pick yourself back up again.
When times are tough and challenges present themselves you need to step back for a moment, open your mind and truly allow yourself to focus on the problem at hand in a way that will determine your immediate future being that of a positive nature.
For example let’s say you are told you are going to be a parent for the first time, but you want to fall down, wondering:
- Are you ready for this new child?
- Will you be able to support this new life emotionally and financially?
- Are you ready to be a parent?
All of those questions are completely normal, it is how you answer them that will determine how you feel. You need to make yourself believe that becoming a parent, although it may not have been planned & seems like a challenge, is a special time in your life, one in which you can grow from. You can take this sudden news that will change your life forever and make it a positive life changing experience.
Of course there are higher challenges that arise from time to time, more so than simply becoming a parent unplanned but I hope you get the idea and will take my advice to start feeling like you are a STAR and NO ONE can stop you now!

This is a great post. It is brutally honest, which most people DO NOT LIKE – but I love that you wrote it anyway. I wish more people believed the way you do in this post.
