Bing has a cool website where teachers can help themselves by logging onto the DonorsChoose.org website to start a “classroom project” or donation request. Parents and students can then visit the Bing Teacher Appreciation site to leave a comment {up to 5 per visitor} about a teacher who has made a difference in their life, enabling them to receive a $5 giving code to donorschoose.org {one per comment}. Parents and students can then apply the $5 giving code to the “classroom project” of their choice. Classroom projects are created by teachers, so reach out to your childrens’ teachers and encourage them to submit their own projects!
Bing Teach Appreciation Website is absolutely a wonderful idea, why? Well I can’t even begin to name the numerous teachers who helped me back in the years of elementary school, the days when my mind was being educated the most and I was being molded into the young adult I became. I used to write to my teachers from first grade, second grade, third grade and I believe even my fourth grade teacher and I were penpals during summer time. Back when I went to school there was always a teacher there to lend a helping hand or ask you what’s wrong if you looked gloomy.
It seems teachers in my elementary school haven’t changed any, they are just as supportive. I think teachers deserve a HUGE support system. Most teachers are purchasing classroom activities and supplies out of their own pocket. Times are tough financially for us all yet teachers still keep their job, why? Well because most of them took this position because they love to give back to the children, they love what they do! I know teachers are truly needed, wanted and loved because they are shaping those little people who will be our future.
Bing’s Teacher Appreciation Website was very easy to navigate and the DonorsChoose.org website was easy to navigate as well. I received a $100 code to use and donated it to the most urgent NH classroom on the website. I had to sign up for an account and the cool thing is you can get a giving card on your birthday. I think that’s a really awesome birthday gift! I love giving, but couldn’t give to a local classroom as no one is listed there in my town. I simply went with the most urgent NH classroom listed and donated my full $100 gift giving code.
Disclosure: I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour campaign by Mom Central on behalf of Bing and a $100 DonoseChoose.org giving code to facilitate my review. Mom Central also sent me a thank-you gift certificate.
