A while back I read an article on Problogger about a WordPress plugin called Why Do Work. After carefully following the instructions on how best to utilize this plugin for my blog and websites as a way to increase Google Adsense revenue I must say I am at a point where I am impressed and must share it with all who read my blog and are bloggers looking to increase their monthly revenue.
I have seen my Google Adsense revenue increase significantly be simply installing the Why Do Work Plugin and setting it up based on ProBlogger’s tips. I have my normal smaller banner that is the 468 x 60 or similar in size set up to show at the bottom of all my blog posts and the first three on my home page, which has really been the same from day 1 of Happily Blended being started. Next I set up the Why Do Work Plugin to add a larger rectangle sized Google Adsense ad at the top left of all my posts that are older than 7 days. This is a way to increase revenue without throwing ads in the faces of your normal everyday readers.
You will be earning revenue off of your search engine based traffic when you set up the larger ads to be placed at the top of your blog posts that are 7 days old. Why Do Work plugin allows you to also block ads from showing on certain blog posts by entering the post ID into the area found within the plugin itself and voila you will have blocked adsense from showing on specific posts.
I took the plugin one step further and also added a big Amazon Affiliate banner at the bottom of all my 7 day plus posts as well. Not sure if it really has done much for my Amazon income but it’s always good to try, you know?! So overall I have been happy watching my revenue increase in my Google Adsense account by using the Why Do Work plugin and I hope you take a moment to at least check the plugin out and see if it is a good fit for your blog, I am sure you will be happy seeing an increase in revenue, even if it’s only pennies to start. We all start somewhere and I am hoping to help you move forward in earning a little bit of revenue anywhere you can get it!
Don’t have a Google Adsense account? You can sign up for a Google Adsense account for free using your Google username and password, and then simply start creating ads.
