Blogging is a wonderful tool for me, it allows me to get thoughts out of my head, writing is something I have used since a young age to get thoughts out of my head in order to move forward in my life. This blog is a mix of things, but honestly with all I have going on at the moment I tend to write more personal, from the heart posts because again this is my outlet and stress relief. As a blogger you are told to find your niche, what particular topic are you best at and what are you looking to offer your readers by creating a blog.
When I started my original blog I was doing it as a way to share work at home direct sales information because that is what I was originally doing to make money from home, but as I wrote more I found my voice and realized that the best thing I have to share with the world is my positive attitude. I am known for smiling when everyone else would be screaming and/or crying. Don’t get me wrong, I do have days when I still cry or scream, but those days get less as each day passes.
Back to the subject of blogging and finding your niche, I personally can’t focus on “one niche”, I mean I guess you could say that overall I like to promote positive thinking and self awareness, but I also love to support those looking to earn money from home and those who want to start blogging. I figured I could lump all the skills I have into one blog because the common theme is “positive thinking”.
One must have a positive, outgoing attitude to survive in the virtual world, if you are going to make money from home you must be able to put yourself out there. One of the ways I put myself out there is through video blogs, commonlly referred to as “vlogs”, which I actually have a full page devoted to my vlogs here at Happily Blended as well as a few others sites I upload to that are not shared on this blog but are shared on my Twitter and Facebook feeds instead.
The posts here at Happily Blended that get the most hits, obviously aside from my giveaways are personal stories that I wrote on a pad of paper while the thought crossed my mind. I advise you to have a notepad or a voice recorder if you want to create a successful blog or even write a successful book. People can read the passion and heart felt emotions behind your writing when you write at the moment the story hits your mind. When your post is written during that specific time of thought then you will have a very, very successful blog with visitors who will come back to read more.
If you are looking to make income from your blog, be sure to take on paid opportunities that pertain to your niche, be patient and those opportunities will come to you. I am on a few lists where I get keywords that companies want to pay me to have within my blog posts. I can write my personal stories as if I would normally but simply link a few of the words to a site and get paid for it, those opportunities are what work best for me honestly. Some other bloggers may prefer to do more sponsored type posts and that works for me as well. I like to keep an open mind and be aware of what my readers want as well as what I WANT my blog to become.
In the end successful blogging is all about what you define it to be, maybe you want a specific number of subscribers, comments or visitors daily, but for me it’s all about the few close connections I have gained through blogging and the money I started making due to those connections was simply a bonus!

Love this Brandy. And very much how I feel too. I am starting to realize that I started out way to narrow on my website and blog. Now, though, since I am writing more personal content, it just seems to come easier!
I also agree to you.My belief is that whatever a blogger writes whatever he should write must come from his heart.Mind you the readers also read the blogs because it is written by a human being and not a machine and the written matter does contain some hidden expressions and feelings which are unique for every blogger.Have a nice time

I love personal stories on blogs! And it is very important to find you voice when writing so you don’t blend in with every other site!

stopping by from SITS. So glad I did – wonderful article! I’ve tried to stay in a niche, but I get more readers when I stray a bit. I thought I should maybe start more blogs – to keep on topic – but I’ve got enough to handle w/one. Thanks for your encouraging words. I needed this today.

Brandy I just wanted to pop in and say I have an award for you on my blog. Hope you have a great Sunday.
I agree! I like the mix to your blog and believe everyone should find their own style, and not feel pressure to all do the same thing. I like a wide variety of styles. . .I wouldn’t read as many blogs if they were all the same type! I hope my readers come to me because mine isn’t the same old thing, either.
P.S. Glad you could relate to the “guys not always knowing what we want to hear” thing on my post last week, haha!
