If you don’t know, now you will know, I am a breastfeeding mother! I made the decision to breastfeed my first born as I felt it was the best choice for my family at the time. Health benefits were of the most popular reasons I decided to start breastfeeding. Four years later when my second child was born, it was just my natural instinct to want to nurse him, however, I only nursed him for 8 weeks. I will get into that detailed story as to why I quit at 8 weeks and how I felt like a failure for only nursing for such a short period of time later on this series or in the e-book. Then last August my third child was born, again I have chosen to breastfeed. My third child is now 7 months old and is strictly breastfeeding with of course baby cereal & baby food. He will not take a bottle for anything or anybody, another story I will certainly share.
More about the title of this post “Coming Soon: Series on Breastfeeding”. Since I am very passionate about breastfeeding and many other moms are too I have decided to do a weekend series through March, April and into May about breastfeeding. I will start the series with my own personal story and go from there step by step from other moms who have shared their stories, tips and advice with me. Outline of my series is as follows:
- Making the best decision for you & your baby – breastmilk or formula?
- Why the decision on what to feed your baby?
- Starting out – hard times, easy times, some unique story sharing here.
- During breastfeeding – hard times, should I quit, advice, tips, recommended products and more.
- The choice to wean – at what age? Toddler feeding will be discussed, and how moms made the decision to wean. As well as other similar stories will be shared.
I hope this is a great series for the expecting mom looking to make the best decision for her & her baby, the mom who is currently nursing and the mom who no longer nurses but has and wishes to get into reading the series to have those “remember when” moments.
The series will ONLY run on weekends. I may have a post for both Saturday and Sunday but almost certainly will have a breastfeeding topic every Saturday through middle of May.
The end result will be a FREE e-book compiled with must have nursing products, must have baby gear for nursing moms, as well as all articles featured in my series. My e-book will be available on Mothers Day and will be FREE to download.
If you are a mom who breastfed or formula fed, I want to hear from you on why you made the decision, how you felt about that decision and any stories that may be similar. If you are a business who has a product or baby gear that you feel Moms MUST KNOW about, then please contact me I would be more than happy to complete a product review for issue in my series as well as my E-book.
FULL DISCLOSURE: Although my series is about breastfeeding and making the decision to do so, this does NOT mean that I am against formula. We, as moms, make our own decisions on what to feed our babies based on what works for us, medical reasons, etc etc! I would never judge a mom for not choosing to breastfeed nor would I pressure a mom to breastfeed. I did feed my two weaned children formula, one for 3 months and one for 10 months so I am in no way stating I am anti-formula. I just love to encourage breastfeeding if you choose to do so, and educate expecting moms on what to expect when nursing. Every mom is different and no matter what “Moms Love Their Children”. Thank you for reading & Keep making Happy memories with your children 🙂
This sounds like it’s going to be an interesting series spoken in Mom language. Sometimes you read books on breastfeeding and it sounds so technical, so medical that it loses it’s personal connection to the mother. It’s sounds like you plan to make this a “real” story with real ups and downs.

Way to go Brandy. I think more moms need the encouragement and support of other nursing mothers to breastfeed, especially to make it through to the 12 month mark. I’ve always said some breastmilk is better than none. I was told that I wouldn’t be able to breastfeed Little Monkey and I nursed him for 18 months.

LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS! I didn’t breastfeed my first and breastfed 2nd for 2 months (only exclusive for 2 weeks.) We’re working on baby #3 and I’m bound and determined to get it right this time!

Thank you so much for doing this!! I wanted really badly to nurse my little girl but it did not workout for us and so I pumped for 6 months for her and now she is on goat milk. We just found out that I am pregnant again and I would really really like to get it right this time. I will definitely be following this!!!
