Driving down the road, heading home from picking up my sweet daughter from her great Gram’s house, we engage in a conversation. Well the conversation was sort of a random blurb that I made into a conversation without the daughter wanting me to. So is the norm around here. I don’t have any friends but one in my class this year and it just sucks. – says the daughter Well I get that you only have one long time friend in your class this year sweetie but maybe the girls you were not friends with last year changed over the Summer and you will go back to find that they are super cool this year. I highly doubt “insert names of girls here”, will ever change. – says the daughter …

A local high school principal has been arrested with allegations of simple assault. A 16 year old had a meeting with two teachers and the high school principal when allegations arose that this principal hit her on the back two or three times and the last time resulted in the student have her head hit the coffee cup on a table in front of her. Although I don’t know all of the facts of this case nor do I know if the student was a girl or a boy, I do know that it seems more and more negative news is being released in the media of bad teachers, mean teachers and plain out right horrible teachers. What happened to featuring the honorable teachers, principals and students? What happened to …

Now I honestly don’t know if my son Aj cried more or less than me, but what I do know is I didn’t cry until I walked out of his classroom and rounded the corner. Listening to his screams and yelling for his “mama” made my heart just drop. I cried so hard that I could barely speak. I was laughing while crying because I had about three teachers tell me “he will be okay” and that “this will get easier”. I never cried when my daughter went to school, so having this separation issue with my son is all new to me. Aj was all prepared on what to expect. Upon the advise of his counselor we tried to make sure Aj knew what was going to happen. We …

I have been working on and brainstorming up a wonderful idea! The basic idea behind the Brandy Ellen Blogging Support Group will be to cross promote each other through various places, assist in promoting daily blog posts, and much more! This will include once a week meetings {virtually that is} that will also be typed up by me within 48 hours for those who are unable to attend the weekly meeting. I am sure if you know and trust me you will understand that this is going to be HUGE and a great way to build your brand, blog and make friends! There are some specific criteria involved in order to become a member as well as some information I wish to provide to you beforehand so that you may …

Bing has a cool website where teachers can help themselves by logging onto the DonorsChoose.org website to start a “classroom project” or donation request. Parents and students can then visit the Bing Teacher Appreciation site to leave a comment {up to 5 per visitor} about a teacher who has made a difference in their life, enabling them to receive a $5 giving code to donorschoose.org {one per comment}. Parents and students can then apply the $5 giving code to the “classroom project” of their choice. Classroom projects are created by teachers, so reach out to your childrens’ teachers and encourage them to submit their own projects! Bing Teach Appreciation Website is absolutely a wonderful idea, why? Well I can’t even begin to name the numerous teachers who helped me back …
