Teaching the importance of giving thanks is something I have thrived to do as a parent with all three of my children. Every year when my oldest had her family birthday party I would make note of which gift was from who on a piece of paper. This list of gifts with who they were from would later be used as my daughter and I sat down with construction paper, glitter glue, stencils, markers and crayons to create our own thank you notes. It’s a simple craft project that is also teaching a valuable life lesson; to give thanks for what we have and for those who give us gifts during any gift giving event. With my younger two, who are now four and six years of age, I have …

The kids and I love coming up with creative ways to have fun that don’t cost a lot of money and the site Scavenger Hunt Riddles and Clues has really narrowed down fun with low cost kid friendly scavenger hunts! The one that I like the most and think is the most appropriate to share with you all today is their 4th of July Scavenger Hunt. This 4th of July Scavenger Hunt is perfect for all ages, they say ages 4 would get most of the clues and ages 6+ would get all of the clues, so team up and have some family fun this upcoming holiday weekend with a scavenger hunt. There are also other scavenger hunt options available such as a Pirate Scavenger Hunt or a Nature Hunt. …

My daughter and I were chit chatting the other night after our nightly read together and she was laughing her butt off at me because apparently I am a bit of a sound sleeper while other times I do odd things in response to her voice. This was our conversation…. We were talking about how I’ve been rather grumpy this past week, I blame it on the idea that I may have PMDD but that’s another story. So I basically told my daughter I would be climbing in bed earlier than normal to try to sleep off the grumpies I’ve been having. I told her if anything came up or she needed anything to just wake me up, I am Mom and there’s no reason for her to feel she …

There is this unwritten law between girls called Girl Code, have you heard of it? Urban Dictionary defines Girl Code as; “The code of guidelines that are {all} girls most obey in order not to get kicked out of the community.” So what is this girl code & is it different for every clique? This mother simply wants to stay in bed one more minute, but duty calls and she slowly climbs out of bed with her bare-feet hitting the cold hardwood floor, she moves to shut off the alarm and work her way down the cold hardwood steps to her sons bedroom. Opening the door this mother is greeted by hugs and …
