Children love working some culinary magic in the kitchen. It gives them a chance to get their hands dirty and, best of all, they can eat the results! Also, you get the chance to spend some quality time with your tots this way, and you can rest assured you’re providing them with some valuable life skills. There are certain classics that almost all children like to cook, including pizzas, chocolate brownies, and fairy cakes. However, if you’re looking for recipes that are fun and easy to prepare but healthier, reach for your slow cooker.

As most of you know I am a busy work at home mother of three. I have a couple blogs, I write on ELM now and I have a business to run, so when it comes to dinners I am usually a boxed meal kind of Mom, however, I have learned that obviously these are not the best nutritious meals for my family. Note that I will never stop making boxed meals or pre-made meals ever but I am trying to do a bit more cooking. The only problem is that with cooking comes finding the time to cook while tackling three children. Okay so my oldest is fine if I cook, she actually would help me, but the other two munchkins enjoy getting under foot just as soon as …

I thought I was being all cool when I decided no more boxed meals for this family, we are going to start eating more home cooked type of meals. I used to cook but that was before I had one child, then I cooked your basic pasta dishes and now I have three children so I just felt boxed meals of some sort were way faster than trying to cut up a bunch of veggies, meat and actually have to pay attention to what’s cooking along with three munchkins. This past week I went grocery shopping but before I did I wanted to make sure I made a grocery listed based on actual cooking recipes. Since my daughter has a full schedule on Mondays, it means my sons and I …

I recently went shopping for some Season-All to put in my burgers I made last night for dinner.I love making cheeseburgers with a lot of herbs and spices in them because it just livens the burger up a bit, if you know what I mean. So on our shopping trip I found that Morton Salt has so many seasonings including salt, obviously, which is the only kind you will find me purchasing. Our family is a huge salt and season fan, anything that we cook for dinner chances are we have to add some seasoning to it. I don’t allow my children to place salt on their foods, but if I cook with some extra salt and seasoning it is okay. While shopping my daughter noticed there are so many …
