Thank you to Melissa who allowed me to share some of her fantastic breastfeeding articles with my readers, since this is the last day of my breastfeeding series I felt it would be best to discuss the topic of weaning. All information below was taken from Melissa’s About.com Page. Most of this article is derived from Melissa’s page, with some ad lib from myself. Weaning can be a challenging time, not only for baby but for Mom as well. There is no real age or correct time to wean your baby off the breast, it’s all a matter of what your comfort level is and if baby is ready. Misconceptions about when to wean: Mothers are often told to wean their babies when it is, in fact, not necessary. Society, …

Life is the best gift from the Creator and a healthy life is just matchless to anything else. Ask the worth of this sentence from a sick person lying helpless and hopeless on the death bed and you will know the facts yourself. A healthy life is directly proportional to the balanced diet and its consumption. The more you live on the balance diet and its proper consumption, the more you are healthy and long lasting. A balanced diet is the one containing all the nutrients including vitamins and among these, vitamin D is one of our best natural friends, playing a very crucial role in our lives. Let’s visit the domain of this vitamin which over a billion people worldwide are deficient of. What Is Vitamin D? Commonly known …

Story shared & written by: Maria Colacurcio is a WAHM. She can be reached on Twitter @mcolacurcio. It’s been 6 months and 15 days since the birth of my identical girl twins. As most moms know, the early days in your newborn’s life both fly by at the speed of light and get stuck in slow motion, where 15 minutes can seem like 4 hours. Since I have a 2 yr old daughter as well, I know now that the little phases don’t last long and I can enjoy them for the fleeting stage they are. The first 6 months with identical twins can be summed up in one word: breastfeeding. Over the past 6 months, I’ve either been breastfeeding, pumping, worrying about milk supply, stocking up frozen milk, stressing …

If you don’t know, now you will know, I am a breastfeeding mother! I made the decision to breastfeed my first born as I felt it was the best choice for my family at the time. Health benefits were of the most popular reasons I decided to start breastfeeding. I will get into that detailed story as to why I quit at 8 weeks and how I felt like a failure for only nursing for such a short period of time later on this series or in the e-book. Then last August my third child was born, again I have chosen to …
