Always has, and still does to this day. My daughter also finds it very easy to communicate by letter, and pours her heart out in her journal daily too.

I can see how the notebook method you’ve suggested here could be awesome. I also love how it offers the child a safe place to get things off of their chest, and know you’ve heard them.
