Parenting Autism

I tell you it is a relief to have a diagnosis that fits for my eight year old son, but it doesn’t make parenting any easier. Having a special needs child, that doesn’t need special education isn’t easy. Also, having a disability that isn’t really a physical disability, is difficult as a parent. More often than not, I find myself making excuses for my son, really it’s not excuses, it’s honesty. You see, there is a wide range of uneducated people in our society who have not a clue about disabilities that are invisible to the naked eye. As a […]

We Have No Secrets

From the day each of my children were placed upon my chest in that hospital room to nurse from me, I have been their first and foremost advocate. As a parent, I work hard. Every single day from that first breath they took of air I have been the most loving, supportive and open minded parent. I have had to make tough decisions based on what’s best for each of my children and I have had to give some tough love from time to time, but it’s been the outcome of all these decisions that warms my heart the most. […]

Yourself will Then Be Gold

Staring into a future unknown. Longing for a glimpse. A glimpse of what may be. Decisions have been made. Why is it so hard. Even when they stare you in the face. Second guessing is second nature. We guess too much and don’t do enough. Never fear the future. Even when uncertain what it holds. Stay true to yourself. Yourself will then be gold. **As a young child, of age 12, I started writing poetry as a means to cope with various troubles in my life. Today, as I face challenges yet again, I turn to poetry writing in hopes […]

{Child Abuse Awareness Month} What WE Can do to Help our Youth #endchildabuse

Another Monday is here and today I decided to report in via YouTube, rather than by blog post. This video discusses what child abuse perpetrators look like, bet you can’t guess what they look like? Also the video goes on to discuss ways for us to help the youth who are in our lives, that can be your own children or other children in the community. Be that person for our youth, because every child enjoys a chance to thrive in life and enjoy life to the fullest! Be that one person a child can turn to and be that […]

My Little Technology Monster so-to-speak #AutismAwareness

As we move further into the month, I am still talking about Autism Awareness because well it’s important alongside many other topics, but this is the one I am learning the most about this month with the recent DX of my son. Today, I discuss the technology addiction my son has always had and was easily confused in the beginning with an ADHD type of child. Aj has always loved electronics, video games could have easily ruled his world back in the younger days, ages 2-5. Then he got older, he learned about MineCraft and YouTube. Most days you will […]

Handable Helps me Not Cringe when Daughter Holding iPhone #cell #holidaygift #spon

I am so happy to have The HandAble Phone Holder as part of my holiday gift guide this year, seriously. This has been a fantastic product to have because my daughter now has an iPhone. Obviously it was a difficult decision giving my child such an expensive cell phone, but in all honesty it just made sense for our plan. The cost was more effective than us all having different devices. I must admit though, I cringe each time my tweenager has her iPhone in her hand either texting, reading an ebook or playing a game. My daughter has my […]

Terry Top Giveaway for the Holidays #holidaygift #spon #contest #giveaway

Terry Top helps my daughter to keep her hair off of her head, out of her face and her body towel off of her pajamas at end of night when she is done with her shower. Usually my daughter ends up with her body towel on her head because she much prefers to have her hair dry a bit under the towel before she brushes her hair before bed.   Terry Top doesn’t really need to have any selling words because their YouTube Video sells it to you on it’s own. Check out the funny video below about Terry Top […]

Flipeez – Fun Winter Hats for Children #holidaygift #flipeez #huggymonkey @IDVproducts

Today I am sharing with you a fun gift idea for the child in your life; Flipeez. I am sure you have seen the commercials, I know my children saw the commercials and proceeded to beg and plead for their own hat. Thankfully I was sent a Monkey Flipeez that has a super soft inner fleece lining and outer knit hat that allows for a one size fits all fit.  My son just loves his Flipeez but I will admit the kids at school enjoy chasing him at recess calling him a Monkey because he is wearing a Monkey on […]
