Meal Number 1 for Thanksgiving – with my Dad, Sister and Others #happilyblended #thanksgiving

This year I had my children for Thanksgiving, their Dads and I split every other year when it comes to this particular holiday, so I have my three children on odd years. On the even years they spend that day with their Dad’s. Not knowing where Thanksgiving Day would be spent upon hearing that my Gram wasn’t hosting this year, made me quite sad. I then realized it is our first year as a blended family unit so we could always make up a new tradition being that we are a “new family” this holiday season for the first time. […]

McCormick’s Turkey Gravy For the Not So Great at Cooking Mama #McCormickGravy Giveaway

It’s that time of year, Thanksgiving is just around the corner and today I get to share with you a fantastic turkey gravy that you can not only use on Thanksgiving but Christmas as well, McCormick Turkey Gravy. The kids and I love love gravy, okay two of my kids and I love gravy, the picky four year old doesn’t hardly like anything except pizza and boxed mac n cheese. *shake my head* I decided that since the older two kids enjoy gravy, that I would have this McCormick Turkey Gravy served up as part of my dinner with mashed […]

A Brief Recap of my Birthday Weekend {more to come}

I mentioned that yesterday was my birthday, well I also mentioned that Sheila from SheilaCakesBlog is here visiting. I had a fantastic birthday weekend. First I took Sheila around to see the Goshen Ocean {which is really called Gunnison Lake} we took pictures and laughed so hard we cried. We had a great time being silly and enjoying the view at the lake. Also, I decided to try to pretend I was on a balance beam, while Sheila captured it in a snapshot picture … Prior to that I had to show off my muscles, because I had been talking […]

Moms The Word on Dinner: Leftovers @ragusauce #momstheword

Let’s talk about leftovers… do you keep leftovers? Does your family toss em in the trash or do you use a particular container to save leftovers? Watch this video and come join the conversation on Ragu’s Facebook Page.   My family loves leftovers. We use a rubbermaid container and enjoy leftovers as lunch the next day and if the budget is super tight or time is tight with after school activities and such then we use leftovers as a dinner meal! I haven’t ever created a secondary meal from leftovers, but I think that is a creative idea! The only […]

Thanksgiving Dinner Thoughts

Thanksgiving Day has come and gone. This year I went to a fantastic feast at my Grandmother’s home where there were approximately12-13 people in attendance. Each of the relatives were to bring a dessert, snack or what have you because my Gram was only providing the meal portion of our Thanksgiving Dinner. There was deviled eggs, Ragu mini-chicken parm, cheese, crackers and well you know the normal snacks one would find at a family get together. Dinner was ready around 2pm, and this had to make me laugh because when I asked my Gram what time dinner would be on […]

Tips To Keep In Mind When Traveling With the Kids

The weather is getting cooler and Thanksgiving is right around the corner. It can only mean one thing: the holiday season is close at hand. For some people, the holidays are a time best spent sitting indoors with the family, drinking eggnog and watching movies. For others, such activities may certainly be pursued, but the highlight of the winter season is escaping to a warm destination for a family vacation. The timing probably works well; the kids are off from school, you and your husband have some days off from work, and the weather outside is basically imploring you to […]
