Family Day Trip to Water Country in Portsmouth, NH #summerbreak #WCFamilyFun #NH

Disclosure: I was provided complimentary tickets and parking to visit Water Country in Portsmouth, NH with my family. Last Monday I packed up the Town & Country to head off for a two hour drive to Portsmouth, NH where the family would enjoy a day out at Water Country. I had a total of four children and two adults in the vehicle and we were ready to head off. The biggest thing that saved our long trip? The Nabi Tablet and Squiggle Pads. The two tweens had their cell phones to entertain them as well. Upon arrival, we checked in […]

Yes, These Kids Have Already Been in the Pool #NH #VT

These kids of mine have already ventured into the pool at my Dad’s home in Vermont. Yes. They did. The pool was about 70 degrees. Of course, me being the parent I am, told them only dip your feet. Seriously, what was I thinking? Dip your feet means get in the water up to your chest, which turned into my Dad saying to me, “what are you talking about? If they can put their feet in then they can get in!” Leave it to Dad … so in they went. So the kids… decided to listen to Grampa because Mom […]

Enjoy All-Year-Round Fun at an Indoor Water Park New England

Vacations are special events that people of all ages greatly anticipate and enjoy. However, the increasingly demanding and hectic lifestyles that many people are currently leading are preventing them from taking vacations as frequently as they would want to. As a result, planning a vacation is often met with certain restrictions in terms of distance, budget, and time. Fortunately, indoor water parks entered the American mainstream in the mid-1900s. They proved to be worthy alternatives to faraway beach destinations not only because of their swimming pools, but also for their various amenities and water activities. If you are looking for […]

I am so Ready for Pool Season

After having a few days of complete awesome warmth and sunshine it has now started to get cold again here in New Hampshire which has left me frustrated and wishing we can just skip Spring now and head into swimming weather. What I wouldn’t give to be pool side watching the kids splash around in the pool. Now that I think about it, while pool season totally rocks, there are some concerns that occur with pool season being that I am a protective Mama and all; pool safety! I get so nervous around pools with my children, the oldest has […]

Using patented spring technology the float instantly pops open and easily folds, and features a convenient Jet Valve™ allowing for easy inflation and deflation. Summer Time Fun in the Water

We are water bugs when it comes to Summer time and pools. Miss Ki and Aj have outgrown the normal kiddie type pool so it was time to upgrade to something a bit larger.  The 10′ ring pool from Summer Escapes seemed to be the perfect upgrade. The pool is 24.5″ deep and about 8′ wide for a nice cool off time without the commitment of a real pool and so we call it our king size kiddie pool. When deciding which larger pool made sense for the budget and our family this pool was the perfect choice. Although it […]

A Child’s Life is Too Precious to Take a Chance

I am working with Swimways this Summer and it excites me because they really do work to reach out and help allow kids freedom to learn to swim safely. Using SwimWays products this year, my three year old son has already ventured to swim across the shallow end of the inground pool at my family farm. One topic that is coming up lately is the topic of parents or caregivers leaving the kids to swim alone, in small or large amounts of water this is not a good idea. No matter the level of swimming ability your child has this […]

This is Last Full Week of School and…

I spent all of yesterday morning being sick in bed, but one thing that never happens is time stopping for a sick Mama.   My sons have decided that 5am is the time to wake up every day of the week & weekend. My family wants to really do some extra fun this Summer but it’s difficult to plan. Last but not least,  the kids are getting ready to hit the pool at our family farm in Vermont this year as often as possible! Of course they only have the kiddie pool at home so this is how they have […]

Using Pictures to Capture The Diminishing Fear of Swimming

Summer is a wonderful time, school is out and the kids are ready to hit the pool and beaches as a way to stay cool in the hot days.  At one point or another I realized that I had not really encouraged a love and trust of water with my middle child, I am not one hundred percent sure why he was not introduced to swimming at an early age like his siblings but he was not introduced to swimming until he was a bit older. I am thankful to have all of my family photographs organized by month and […]

Summer Time Means Pool Time

I have been spending a lot of time around the pool at my Dad’s house in Vermont. The kids just love swimming and have become really great at swimming with their arm floaties on and their little tubes around their waist. It is a short drive to my Dad’s house where we keep our fingers crossed that our uncle has the pool open so that the kids can enjoy some cool down time. I say cool off time but the fact that the pool was around 84 then 82 degrees Fahrenheit the last two times we went swimming, it wasn’t […]
