What Does the Mama Say

My five year old son enjoys being goofy, like all of the time. I always say he is my little comedian. It’s hard work to capture K-man’s comedian side with a sense of getting an education and actually staying focused. While K-man is doing well in school this year, his first year in school all day, he does tend to exhibit the side of a “class comedian”. Thankfully we all are working together to get his attention focused on school work and being silly at recess or at home instead.

As of late, the What did the Fox Say song is my five year old son’s favorite tune to mock. Shown in the above video, my five year old son is singing “What does the Mama Say” to the tune of What Does the Fox Say.

Yes. I live with this daily. Always that amount of energy and excitement with this child. Always.

So what is your kids favorite tune to sing these days?

Sweet Summertime

Due to the fact that this is Summer and I firmly believe Summer is the best time to focus on family fun, my blog does not have as many updates. You see, I started to feel bad because after all this is my income, but on the other hand, I remembered that this is the last Summer I have before all three of my kids are in school full time. Yes, my “baby” is headed off to full day Kindergarten this year and how that makes me sad in some ways.

On another hand, I am happy to have the Summer time to enjoy him some more before I only see him during the no school hours and school vacation times. Once school starts I get to ramp up my blogs, get them organized and running strong. Once school starts, that will be MY time for the first time in like near 11 years that I will be able to work from home near full time hours and make more progress, be more productive and have the ability to do customer service call center type jobs from home!

While I am sad that my baby is off to full day school this Fall, I am happy to say we have been enjoying our summer together, every single one of us … as a family!

A Wonderful Easter Sunday

Baby Niece

Olivia with her Daddy

Easter Sunday is normally  just another day for me, if the kids are here they wake up and find their Easter baskets that the Easter Bunny hid all over the house for them. When the kids are gone, like this past Easter, then it’s simply just another day. The Easter Bunny visits and hides the baskets but the kids do not get to find them until they return home on Monday. As most of you know that talk to me often or read my blog, I became an aunt for the first time in January and so this year a new tradition was born. Whether this is done yearly or not, I don’t know, all I do know is this – Easter Sunday this year was spent at my sisters and her husbands apartment. Sister cooked a nice ham meal for us to gobble up and I got to spend quality time with my niece and sister.

Me Getting Olivia Love

What a fun day it was to see my niece for the first time in forever, you see between the virus that was in my home and took a month to get over and now my sister and her family being sick with the virus, it just wasn’t smart to have all of us around each other. Since my baby niece is still sick as well as my sister and her husband I wasn’t quite sure about heading over at all anytime soon but the temptation of great company combined with great food was simply irresistible. And so I went over to the sisters house and enjoyed ham, mashed potatoes, stuffing and deviled eggs. Then for dessert we had strawberry shortcake, it was super yummy and I left super full.

I was so happy to see my sister and to get my baby fix, my youngest is four so any chance to snuggle and cuddle with a baby I am going to go for. Olivia is getting so big and she is smiling a lot now. I loved watching her lay on her back on the floor while I leaned over her talking to her and she smiled then turned her head as if she was playing shy not wanting me to see her smile. I had a lovely Easter Sunday and I hope all of you did too. Now it’s time to return back to regular work week schedule and children duty.

When Your Theory on Life and Happiness Hits Your Heart

I am a positive thinker, I wouldn’t go on to say I am a 100% optimistic person, however, I do tend to lean more towards an optimistic person than a pessimistic one. You see, life is way too short to dwell on what negative may happen or has happened – I say focus on today and live each moment to the fullest for you never know when life will stop.

The thing about being a positive thinker, is that my positive attitude comes out in my parenting style and I did not realize just how much my positive thinking was reaching my children until the other night. I was sitting downstairs working on my boys bedtime routine when my daughter came downstairs, with a smile on her face, she looked as though she were up to no good when out of her mouth came a quote:

Filling your soul with other souls makes you more bitter and cold.

Say what? Did my nine year old daughter just say what I think she said? Basically, as explained to me by this nine year old girl, the quote means that you can’t let others get inside of you, you can not allow people who are mean or negative get into your soul because you are only responsible for yourself. Each person in this world can be happy, if only they remember that happiness comes from their own soul, not other souls.

Now, these are not words I would use exactly, mainly the word soul, however, she has a pretty good point, don’t you think? This was the day my theory on life and happiness hit my heart hard and a tear flowed down my face, a happy, proud sort of tear.

Quotes about Happiness, It’s all About your State of Mind

I have gone through more negative than positive some days. I have broken down in tears knowing that all I could provide for my child was cheap pasta for dinner. I have been down to the lowest rock bottom level I considered for myself. Yet, with all that I have had impact my life in a negative way, still I have found happiness in myself that I make a conscious effort to focus on.

It is within yourself that you can find your true happiness and I can only hope these quotes shared today will assist in helping you see the light inside of your own soul that begs to be seen….

Most people would rather be certain they’re miserable, than risk being happy.  ~Robert Anthony

If you want to be happy, be.  ~Leo Tolstoy

Even if happiness forgets you a little bit, never completely forget about it.  ~Jacques Prévert

Happiness is never stopping to think if you are.  ~Palmer Sondreal

The foolish man seeks happiness in the distance; the wise grows it under his feet.  ~James Openheim

Will you choose to take the upper hand of your life today? Will you choose to overcome self pity, depression, negative words? Will you choose to live with a true happiness about yourself, your life and your family? I hope you will search within your own self to find that light, the light of happiness that is deep within us all.
