{Mama and Son Time} Making Pizza with my Boys

I used to have a tradition that every Friday we would make pizza or at least have pizza for dinner. I really miss this tradition, but while money is tight for now with the new home purchase, we will attempt to do our best to make it a once a month event or maybe twice a month for now.

Five year Old Making Pizza

I purchased pizza crust from Market Basket, pizza sauce, shredded cheese and some pepperoni slices earlier in the day. I set up the crusts on pan as well as sauce and cheese in two bowls so that the boys could have space to create their own pizzas; one cheese pizza and one pepperoni pizza.

I had to encourage my seven year old son to do more on his own, lately his confidence has been going downhill a bit but that’s just simply due to medication changes. I worked to encourage him to put his own cheese and pepperoni on so he could be proud of his creation.

We had a great time together. The boys were enjoying the fact that they could make their own dinner.

K-man was super proud of his “cheesiest ever pizza” creation.

We popped the pizzas in the oven for about ten minutes…

And then we ate, together as a family.

Let Kids Make Pizza For Dinner

Last week I went grocery shopping with my oldest and we were wondering whatever shall we do for dinner tonight (this was Saturday evening) and we figured something quick, easy but fun that we could make together … the answer? Pizza! That’s my favorite for sure and the kids can make it.

So Ki and I picked up a pack of 2 pizza doughs that are pre-made, some $1 pizza sauce, some pepperoni’s and one package of shredded cheese. What a great way to spend a nice evening together and knowing that the children would be able to taste test their creation afterwards was a plus!

So when Ki and I got home we took care of the groceries and around 5pm we were ready to get dinner started. The dishes were washed, table cleaned off, hands washed. I set two bowls with mozzarella cheese in one and cheddar cheese in another as well as a package of pepperoni (that was nearly gone due to everyone sneaking pieces) on the table.

Even Baby K joined in eating the cheese mostly, but he sat in his high chair and clapped and cheered us on making our pizza’s. Each child was able to place their own cheese and pepperoni on their own pizza for us to eat after it baked.

Ki had her creation, mozzarella cheese with pepperoni and then a bit of cheddar cheese on top:

AJ was all proud of his pizza that was mostly cheese (we all love cheese in this house) and here’s a pic of his:

SO next time you are thinking of making something, try pizza. You can even make it a healthier pizza with veggies on it, we just didn’t do that this time, surely we will try it next time!

Make it a Happy Day!
