Mega Bloks Hot Wheels™ Bad to the Blade & Fast Fish Giveaway

Free ProductThe boys had a fun surprise show up in the mail a few weeks ago, Mega Bloks Hot Wheels™ Bad to the Blade and Fast Fish showed up on our door step for their Mega Bloks building pleasure.

Mega Bloks Hot Wheels Giveaway HappilyBlended.com

Mega Bloks and Hot Wheels™ have teamed up to create fun for your child, recommended for ages 5 and up. With a variety of sets available, we received Bad to the Blade and Fast Fish speedsters that allow my sons to follow instructions in the provided booklet or use their imaginations to create their own Hot Wheels™ speedster. Each set comes with a collectible micro action figure. I had a blast spending time building Fast Fish with my five year old son, while my seven year old son refused to let me take part in the building process. Aj wanted to do it all by himself, and honestly has yet to complete Bad to the Blade, but K-man and I did finish our Fast Fish speedster.

The instruction booklet is easy to follow for any child, even if they can’t quite read yet. The instructions are visual in nature and K-man had fun instructing me how to build Fast Fish based on how he was interpreting the booklet of instructions that came with the package. Once we were completed with the task of building Fast Fish, K-man and I brought out his race tracks sets and tried to race Fast Fish against his other Hot Wheels™ matchbox cars. It was a fun time, I think Mega Bloks Hot Wheels™ speedsters are a great addition to any family who enjoys spending quality time together. Mega Bloks Hot Wheels™ seemed to teach my sons the skills of reading & following instructions, using their imaginations and using teamwork skills.

To see K-man’s face beam with pride after we finished our Mega Bloks Hot Wheels™ Fast Fish speedster was worth every moment we spent together building this set. I hope that one of you get to experience the joy in creating these together as a family too!

Building with Mega Bloks with My Little Man

We had school vacation for over a week, then two snow days. The stomach bug hit our home and so there were more school days missed on top of the already planned school break plus snow days. My children have been home more often than in school the past month so we have been trying our hardest to have some fun, during our non sick moments.

Building Mega Bloks for Fun with Kids

We have a house full of toys but we also have a house full of electronics, this means there is  constant battle between getting kids to not want electronics. My little man isn’t a huge electronic playing kid, while he enjoys time on MineCraft here and there, overall he is a child who benefits most from one on one interaction with his toys.

Building Cage for Flashlight Friend out of Mega Bloks

We decided Mega Bloks would be fun on this particular day! My son wasn’t interested in building a huge, tall tower because “it will fall”. My son wasn’t interested in building a garage for his cars to play in. I finally used some of my own imagination and said, “hey let’s build a cage for your Flashlight Friend”. The little man’s face brightened and so we went on to build a cage for our Flashlight Friend Penguin.

When the cage was near finished, we weren’t really ready to call it quits yet so we looked at the blocks to figure out what more we could do to this cage…

Cookie Monser Mega Blok guards Flashlight Friend

We found Cookie Monster and decided that Cookie Monster would be the best guard for our cage while we ventured out of the bedroom of creativity with Mega Bloks to interact with the other two kiddos in the house. Cookie Monster did a great job guarding our Flashlight Friend, to this day, he is still in his cage!

Chuggington MEGA Bloks sets Review and Giveaway

I am excited to share with you my experience with the Chuggington MEGA Bloks lines; The Jetpack Adventure, Repair Shed and Roundhouse.

I keep telling you all that I am horrible with instructions for sets like this and in all honesty it is extremely difficult for me to ever get a train set track to match up so that the kids can actually play with their train sets, I always leave that up to the man of the house. The problem was, with these particular sets, that the man of the house was working and my Baby K really wanted to play with his new Chuggington Sets, so it was up to this Mom to figure out how to set them up.

I succeeded in setting up the Mega Bloks Chuggington Jetpack Adventure set in record time with the help of Baby K. We enjoyed playing with Action Chugger and Wilson most of the morning! The other two sets are the Mega Bloks Chuggington Roundhouse Racing and the Mega Bloks Repair shed, however, I was unable to get actual pictures of these other two sets being put together since the man of the house and the boys did it and then took it apart nearly in the same time it took me to get some work done in the office.

These sets are rated for children ages 3 and up, as you heard my son is three and enjoys these sets fully. The retail value varies but runs from $49.99 for the jetpack adventure, $29.99 for the roundhouse set and $14.99 for the repair shed. You can certainly get hours of fun with these set ups which is why I am hosting a giveaway for one lucky reader to win all three of these sets!! It’s important to encourage a love of learning and play with kids, MEGA Bloks and Chuggington teaming up is the perfect match for assisting in children’s growth.

I Passed the Blok Squad Construction Unit Mission

I have a confession, I have never been able to build anything based on the instructions provided within the box of new toys, new furniture or anything. I have always failed at following such instructions with even something as simple as the Mega Bloks Blok Squad Construction Unit Mission, however, this time — I did not fail, I succeeded!

This is how the pieces looked once my three year old son got his hands on the package while I was preparing for our mother and son afternoon of building Mega Bloks. The next step was for me to pull out the instruction booklet and get the pieces ready, one step at a time. The three year old assisted in gathering the parts for me to build his bucket loader Blok Squad Construction Unit.

We had a fun time and just the simple fact that I was able to follow directions 1) impressed my son and 2) made me proud of myself! This was a great time with my son, but he is three and I keep mentioning his age for a reason; this Construction Unit retails for $9.99 and is recommended for ages 5 and up. I would, under no circumstances, ever let my three year old son play with this set alone due to extremely small choking hazard pieces for his age.

Now that I have shown you the fun we had, let me tell you a bit about the Blok Squad Construction Unit Mission by Mega Bloks:

  • Construction zone included with a worker, set up of the 4×4 hard lights and much more to complete your child’s fun imaginary play time.
  • There are other playsets available and you can find out about all of the buildable playsets on MegaBrands.com website.
  • These sets feature 218 pieces and are available for the price of $9.99.
  • Available in the U.S. at Toys “R” Us, Walmart, Amazon.com and in Canada at Walmart CDN, Toys “R” Us and Zellers.
