What To do on Spring Break – Day 2

This was Saturday, which was technically the first day of Spring Break, but I am counting it as Day 2. The kids had a blast playing up in the woods and outside on this fine Saturday before Easter Sunday. My oldest and youngest went outside first, it meant I couldn’t take a shower because it was a beautiful day and there was no time for Mama to shower. I just threw some clothes on and fixed my pigtail braids and ventured outside with them. They had fun being goofy, I called it a yoga lesson. My middle child, Aj, ventured […]

Meal Number 1 for Thanksgiving – with my Dad, Sister and Others #happilyblended #thanksgiving

This year I had my children for Thanksgiving, their Dads and I split every other year when it comes to this particular holiday, so I have my three children on odd years. On the even years they spend that day with their Dad’s. Not knowing where Thanksgiving Day would be spent upon hearing that my Gram wasn’t hosting this year, made me quite sad. I then realized it is our first year as a blended family unit so we could always make up a new tradition being that we are a “new family” this holiday season for the first time. […]

Today is my birthday and I’ll cry if I wanna. I’ll dance if I wanna. I’ll embarrass you if I wanna. I’ll sleep if I wanna. Today I turn the big ole 32 years of age… and I couldn’t be happier to be another year older Each year I learn more about who I am, what I love and what it is in this world that makes me “tick”. I welcome the 32nd year of my life with open arms. Happy Birthday to ME.

Celebrating Turning 11 Years Old, 11 Days After Birthday

This past weekend my daughter had her 11 year birthday celebration! Some family came and her friends came. There were snacks, music, fun and laughter – cake and ice cream and presents. Miss Ki got all dressed up in my skirt and an old shirt I had given her as she waited for guests to arrive… My little girl isn’t a little girl anymore … I can’t believe she is now 11 and that next year she will be in Junior High. Sigh. After Miss Ki got all dressed up she proceeded to the backyard to ensure her birthday picnic […]

Happy Happy Birthday to my Lovely Daughter

I watched and listened as she grew into such a beautiful young girl. I watched as she grew and I continue to watch and learn about who she is […]

What? You Only Have Water in the Cooler? @WATAAH

No …. it’s WAT-AAH! A completely different thing, right? Well yes and no. To the kids, yes. To me, no. The day of my two sons birthday party had arrived and the cases of WAT-AAH! were ready in the cooler with lots of ice to make sure the children and adults at the party were replenished during this hot Summer day. The sun shined down hard on this past Saturday when we hosted a birthday party for the boys. It made all of us sweat and grab for more and more water, but the thing is, WAT-AAH! being the only […]

Planning a Boys Birthday Party in August

I am planning a birthday party for my sons, for the first time ever. These two boys are 2 years and 6 days apart. Having always celebrated with their Dad, myself and maybe my sister and her husband with cake, ice cream and presents, usually the boys do not have any form of a birthday party. This year shall be different, Aj is turning 7 and has made some friends having been in school for K and 1st Grade. Even my little one who is turning 5 has made some friends from being in pre-k this past year. That means, […]
