We Survived Week Two of Back to School

School started on August 26th, it was a bittersweet day for me. I was excited to be able to work 5 hour days from home again, but also going to miss all four of the kids after our terrific Summer together. Then on day two I was bringing the boys into their school and K-man just lost it. He spent about six days of being in tears at every drop off. It killed me. I had to be strong, swift yet loving with drop off to school as a means to keep hope that he would stop having such anxiety […]

What Does a Person on State Assistance Look Like?

There was a recent blog post spreading around Facebook about Food Stamps and that is what encouraged me to write this blog post. The post was about how judged a woman felt about using food stamps, because the man behind her uttered something negative about her using food stamps to pay for her groceries. It really is so sad that there are many entitled, judgmental people in this world that they think they can judge someone on a simple first glance of that person. I don’t think any of us  owe an explanation to anyone about our life nor our […]

My Daughter Being Silly Singing her Made up Song

This past weekend we had a blast with family time, more posts about our trip on Saturday to Chuck E. Cheese’s coming soon but for today I share with you the video of my daughter singing a song that she just started singing aloud. You see, we were all seated around the dining room table playing with pretend clay when my daughter started making fruits, then a taco and a plate of spaghetti out of her modeling clay. Apparently that was enough inspiration for her to start singing this little tune … Can you tell that she is my daughter? […]

{Inspiration} How to Lead a Happy Life #redefininghappiness

It took me a lot of years to get to a place where I realized happiness is more about a thought process than materialistic items or what you have in life. Happiness is an emotion derived from what you have going on inside of your body, mind and soul. Happiness is something that only you can bring to your life, no one else can control your happiness. Other people may be able to affect your happiness, if you let them, but ultimately my point is that it is up to you to lead a happy life and not allow anyone […]

Meal Number 1 for Thanksgiving – with my Dad, Sister and Others #happilyblended #thanksgiving

This year I had my children for Thanksgiving, their Dads and I split every other year when it comes to this particular holiday, so I have my three children on odd years. On the even years they spend that day with their Dad’s. Not knowing where Thanksgiving Day would be spent upon hearing that my Gram wasn’t hosting this year, made me quite sad. I then realized it is our first year as a blended family unit so we could always make up a new tradition being that we are a “new family” this holiday season for the first time. […]
