The Fairy Hobmother has Visited Me

Fairy_hobmother_for_bloggersI am not talking about the tooth fairy that visited last night scrounging up change to place in my daughter’s tooth fairy box in exchange for her lost molar, no. I am talking about another amazing fairy, this is the Fairy Hobmother who visits blogs to sprinkle gifts to use for just spreading the belief in fairies.

Heck if I can believe in the tooth fairy at 31 years of age, I suppose a Fairy Hobmother is not that far fetched to believe in. So today I write about being visited by the Fairy Hobmother in hopes that I get sprinkled a little gift and other bloggers do too.

If you leave a comment on this blog post, as a blogger, you just may receive a visit too!

Most of you may or may not know, I will be moving from where I live now at some point here, after a year and a half of renting from my Mom the time has come for her to move back to this area with her husband and me to move on with my kids to our new “home”. I thank Mom for allowing me to stay here, while I paid for her mortgage as a way to assist me in getting back on my feet from a foreclosure. I think I have grown close to my Mom during this past year and a half and that is something I can walk away with being grateful for, among other things.

As I search around for a new rental one of the things that I really need to know is if there is a washer and dryer hook up at the new rental. I have three kids and let me tell you what, I certainly wish this Fairy Hobmother could not only sprinkle me with gifts, but make laundry magically disappear into dresser drawers too ;-)

When I move, I will need to purchase a cheap tumble dryer as a way to ensure my laundry never goes undone, piled to the ceilings in my new home.  Of course, if I don’t get a dryer or washer for my new rental home, I will just have to be a frequent visitor at the local laundry mat.

Now that I have sprinkled the love of the Fairy Hobmother to you all, I hope you will believe in fairies again and leave me a comment below telling me something that you wish a Fairy Hobmother would do for you!

Disney Secret of the Wings 4-Disc Combo Pack Review

It’s available for you to purchase this holiday season and what is “it”? Well it’s Disney Secret of the Wings, that’s what “it” is and it is the most flitteriffic film EVER.

My daughter and I have movie night every other Friday, after the boys lay down to sleep I rush upstairs to make popcorn and enjoy the smell of popcorn with the company of my daughter with a movie. This past week we chose Disney’s Secret of the Wings, after all we enjoyed the previous Tinker Bell movie and wanted to know how good this film was.

Were we ever happy! This film is fantastic and kept us sitting there glued to the TV screen for the whole film. Afterwards we enjoyed some of the DVD bonus features such as;

  • Pixie Hollow Games Bonus Adventure
  • “Great Divide” music video performed by McClain Sisters
  • “Dig Down Deep” music video performed by Zendaya
  • Pixie Preview; Fright Light

The cool thing about Disney Secret of the Wings 4-disc combo pack is that we didn’t miss out on any special bonus features that sometimes are on the Blu-ray over the DVD copy. You can get the same fantastic bonus features listed above on the Blu-ray disc too.

I enjoyed following along with Tink as she learned what the secret was behind her glowing wings. I loved the winter fairies and the summer fairies, it was as if there was a mirror image of the fairy land as well as each fairy. My daughter and I enjoyed saying which fairy from each side was like the other from the other side.

This is a fantastic film for all to enjoy on family movie night and because we loved it so much I just had to share that you all can enjoy the Meet the Fairies Winter Pack just in time before snow flies, well it already flew once here in NH, but you know what I mean.

Disclosure: I received this film for free, however, all opinions are that of my own!

The Tooth Fairy Visits Sprinkling Love & Magic

The day had came, my daughter who was previously told by her dentist that all of her molars have zero roots with big teeth ready to pop through underneath, had her first loose molar. This was no surprise to her Dad and me, for this girl always loses her teeth one after the other. If you didn’t see when she was younger in this video below, she was missing two front teeth just before Christmas one year & sang a little song for me;

The other night my daughter realized that her molar was loose and it was going to come out very soon. The thing that sort of stinks is that she seems to lose most of her teeth when she is at her Dad’s house, so the tooth-fairy frequents her Dad’s house and apparently this time around Kiara was not having that. Since she was about to spend four days with her Dad she was determined to lose her tooth at my house. Don’t ask me why, it was her “thing”.

I read her the Chicken Soup for the Soul Mothers & Daughters story as we do every night, while she wiggled that darn tooth and I cringed because I do not like wiggly teeth, it’s gross. I tucked her in, sung her our song and gave her a kiss goodnight. Shut her light off and left her room.  Next thing I know, I was in the kitchen making lunches for school and she came out with a tooth in hand.

I replied “you just could not go to sleep until you got that tooth out could you?” and she smiled running off to grab her tooth-fairy box for her first lost molar. As she put that box under her pillow we had a discussion, Kiara wanted to place her tooth box on her bookshelf or desk so that the tooth-fairy could better reach it. I told her no, don’t do that. The tooth-fairy has magical dust she sprinkles on you before reaching under your pillow so she can get it without waking you.

Kiara wasn’t quite convinced but smiled with my story telling, I proceeded to ask if she woke up feeling sleepier than normal or dizzy after a visit from the tooth-fairy, after all she is sprinkling some crazy sleeping dust on her in the middle of the night. Kiara just laughed and rolled her eyes saying “no Mama, I don’t”. I have no clue if she believed her crazy Mama’s story of the tooth-fairy but she certainly enjoyed the humor in it and when she woke up with $1.25 she was ecstatic that the tooth-fairy had come and not even woken her in the middle of the night.

I have to wonder, what does the tooth-fairy look like? Larry the Cable Guy, The Rock or is it a small fairy like Tinker Bell who has magical powers beyond our imaginations?

Meet The Fairies DVD Review

Meet the Fairies came out on DVD on March 22, 2011 and my family was able to review this great film. My daughter loves fairies and truly enjoyed watching this movie as her movie night choice during weekends and no school nights.

About Meet the Fairies

The Fairies is an enchanting, magical fantasy, come to life in pretty shades of pink.

This live-action, musical series for preschoolers introduces two beautiful fairies, Harmony and Rhapsody. The Fairies explore Fairyland through play and adventure with their days full of magic, friends, giggles, singing and dancing and of course, fan-fairy-tastic fun!

Fairyland is just brimming full of fan-fairy-tastic friends, so dust off your wings, wave your wand, and start getting to know them a little better!

There’s the pretty purple fairy Harmony and her best friend, Rhapsody (who is always in pink)! Then we meet the yellow and black striped bee, Barnaby the Bizzy Buzzy Bee; their all-dancing, cake cooking friend, Elf the Fairy Cake Maker, and of course the ever perplexed Wizzy the Wizard (who never gets his spells right).

Friends drop in from time to time – we meet Bubbles the Beach Fairy and Twinkle the Tooth Fairy, and of course the Tots (young fairies and elves in training); Melody, Jingles, Treble, Acorn and Buttercup.

NCircle is the studio for this DVD and it has a run time of about 60 minutes. I think this is a great film to check out and it is recommend for ages 2-5 but my 8 year old daughter does love this DVD so it’s all a matter of what your child enjoys.

Connect with NCircle Entertainment on Twitter and Facebook

Disclosure: I received this DVD for free from NCircle Entertainment, however, all opinions are based on my own experience with the product.
