The Little Mermaid Diamond Edition – Blu-ray, DVD and Digital Copy Review Giveaway #LittleMermaid

Free Product

Today I am sharing the excitement I had on October 1 when Disney released The Little Mermaid in Diamond Edition with a Blu-ray, DVD and Digital Copy combo pack. Many of my friends on Facebook were saying how this is one of their favorite Disney movies, grown adults love The Little Mermaid – it’s not just for children.

Little Mermaid DE Combo Pack Box Art

Sing along with the classic songs featured in The Little Mermaid with this limited time release! You will find included a New Music Video, Deleted Character {Harold the Merman} and much more with this new combo pack that is available this Fall 2013.

Disney has also released The Little Mermaid on Blu-ray 3D in a Combo Pack that allows those who have 3D capabilities to enjoy this film in 3D format at home. How fun would that be? I honestly did love this on Blu-ray; fantastic picture quality. Watching Diamond Edition Little Mermaid on Blu-ray was a totally different experience than my prior years of watching this on DVD or even VHS when I was younger.

The biggest reason I am sharing The Little Mermaid and was happy to spread the word about it’s release from the vault is because when I was in chorus back in my elementary years; we sung a lot of the songs from this film. I know each song by heart, the five year old wouldn’t let me sing during film though, apparently that was messing up with his viewing pleasure.

Release Date is October 1, 2013

Wreck-It Ralph – Question and Answer Session with Sarah Silverman

Wreck-it Ralph Hug

About Wreck-It Ralph

Ralph (voice of John C. Reilly) is tired of being overshadowed by Fix-It Felix, Jr. (voice of Jack McBrayer), the “good guy” star of their game who always gets to save the day. But after decades spent doing the same thing and seeing all the glory go to Felix, Ralph decides he’s tired of playing the role of a bad guy. He takes matters into his own massive hands and sets off on a game-hopping journey across the arcade through every generation of video games to prove he’s got what it takes to be a hero.

Sharing parts of the interview that I enjoyed learning more about

You have a lot of energy when you are working on stage. Does that energy hamper you in the sound booth on an animated project like this?

I didn’t feel hampered because I moved around in the sound booth. I still do everything I would do as if it was a live-action project, except I am wearing sweats and there’s a bun on top of my head. They are recording my voice, but I am working with my whole body when I’m in there.

What was it like to work with fellow actor John C. Reilly in the sound booth?

It was awesome. We got to record together, which was unique in animation like this because most of the time they record your voice on your own. To be able to look into each other’s eyes and improvise together was great. We were able to go in completely bizarre directions at times and that really helped our characters. It gave the dynamic between us a subtle nuance you wouldn’t get if we were working alone in the booth.

What inspired you the most in the sound booth?

Watching John C. Reilly record his voice was so much fun and it was very inspiring. You forget that you have to record the running and the sounds that your character makes when they gasp or sob. There are so many little, subtle noises that come out of our nose and mouth – and all of that has to be recorded. Those were the things that were most awkward for me, but watching John do them was hilarious and inspiring.

How did you get involved with the project?

When Disney approached me, I thought, ‘Really? You want Sarah Silverman?’ I was delighted because I’m a huge Disney fan, but I don’t think I would’ve ever predicted them reaching out to me. I’m so glad they did, though. The story of this movie is great and the characters are wonderful. I feel really connected to my character, Vanellope von Schweetz.

What were you like in school?

Predictably, I was the class clown. I think I was a very good student, mostly because I wanted my teachers to like me. I had to be liked. When it comes to cliques, I was on the periphery. I got along with all of the different cliques because I didn’t get too involved with any of them. I got by, but I’m glad it’s over.

Where did you find the fun and feisty voice of Vanellope von Schweetz?

There was very little searching for that voice; it happened in a minute. I just looked at the character and she’s so scrappy, so I sped up my voice and gave her a permanent cold. That was it.

What is your favorite candy?

I love Sweet Tarts, I love Nerds Rope, I love Smarties, but on the chocolate side I love a Kit Kat, a Twix, a regular Hershey bar and Cadbury Eggs. Mmmm! I also love a Dove Bar. I would eat a Dove Bar every day if I could.

Wreck-It Ralph is now available on HD Digital and on 3D Blu-ray Combo Pack!

Holidaying with Children: where to go for an action-packed family holiday

Looking for family holiday ideas? When planning to take the kids away, you’ll want to choose somewhere with plenty to keep them occupied. The world is full of diverse destinations, where you can find a broad range of unusual and exciting activities.

Here are our picks of some of the best family holiday destinations:

Combine seaside fun with adventure in the Mediterranean island of Corsica. With the wealth of sandy white beaches there’s already loads of activities for the family to enjoy, with the standard seaside sandcastle-building and water sports on offer.

But away from the beaches, there are a great many family friendly activities to add a touch of excitement to your break, from coastal train, boat and donkey rides for families with little ones to mountain biking and horse riding for older children.

Pyrenees Action

Families travelling to the Pyrenees nestled between Spain and France, will have no shortage of action and adventure.

From stunning walks around the beautiful Siscaro Lakes and the Incles Valley, to mountain biking through the Cortals Valley and downhill into Spain, and white-water rafting down Sort’s world-class rivers, you’ll get the adrenaline pumping and be sure to tire the kids out before bedtime.

Zulu Warriors & Wildlife in South Africa

The Zulu Warriors tour around the north eastern corner of South Africa, it suitable for all the family (over the age of six), and takes you round the many fascinating game reserves, including the Krueger National Park.

You will also visit the Moholoholo Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre when you can get up close to some fascinating species, a crocodile farm, and Shaka’s Kraal where you can experience Zulu culture first hand.

The tour begins in Johannesburg and ends on the sprawling white sands of Durban to top off your action-packed break with some well-deserved beach R&R.

America by Motorhome

If you can afford to take the time off, this is a really fantastic way of spending the summer holidays with your kids.

Motorhomes these days come with really great facilities, and though there’s a lot of driving around involved, there’s no shortage of scenery and plenty of space for the kids to play games or watch DVDs in the back.

Perhaps the most alluring aspect of this kind of holiday is the freedom. If you find a place that you and the kids love, stay for a bit longer and explore everything there is to see before moving on. You’re free to go wherever you want.

Plus, there’s no need to pack when you’re ready to move on!

A Disney Cruise

Children love Disney, and on a fun-packed Disney cruise, there’s a wealth of exciting activities to keep the whole family happy.

On a Disney cruise families can look forward to:

  • Stunning fireworks displays at sea
  • Live Disney musicals
  • Showings of the most popular Disney movies
  • Disney-themed deck parties
  • Excellent dining choices so even the pickiest eaters are catered for!

And whilst the kids are off being entertained by the excellent cruise staff and youth co-ordinators, parents are free to enjoy the fantastic spa facilities, heated pools, romantic restaurants and bars.

Disney Secret of the Wings 4-Disc Combo Pack Review

It’s available for you to purchase this holiday season and what is “it”? Well it’s Disney Secret of the Wings, that’s what “it” is and it is the most flitteriffic film EVER.

My daughter and I have movie night every other Friday, after the boys lay down to sleep I rush upstairs to make popcorn and enjoy the smell of popcorn with the company of my daughter with a movie. This past week we chose Disney’s Secret of the Wings, after all we enjoyed the previous Tinker Bell movie and wanted to know how good this film was.

Were we ever happy! This film is fantastic and kept us sitting there glued to the TV screen for the whole film. Afterwards we enjoyed some of the DVD bonus features such as;

  • Pixie Hollow Games Bonus Adventure
  • “Great Divide” music video performed by McClain Sisters
  • “Dig Down Deep” music video performed by Zendaya
  • Pixie Preview; Fright Light

The cool thing about Disney Secret of the Wings 4-disc combo pack is that we didn’t miss out on any special bonus features that sometimes are on the Blu-ray over the DVD copy. You can get the same fantastic bonus features listed above on the Blu-ray disc too.

I enjoyed following along with Tink as she learned what the secret was behind her glowing wings. I loved the winter fairies and the summer fairies, it was as if there was a mirror image of the fairy land as well as each fairy. My daughter and I enjoyed saying which fairy from each side was like the other from the other side.

This is a fantastic film for all to enjoy on family movie night and because we loved it so much I just had to share that you all can enjoy the Meet the Fairies Winter Pack just in time before snow flies, well it already flew once here in NH, but you know what I mean.

In Love with Beverly Hills Chihuahua 3 #dvd @DisneyPictures

I have seen Beverly Hills Chihuahua 1, 2 and now I have seen 3. I am in love. This is a cute film that does a great job making more and more of the films, whereas some films try to pull off multiple dvd’s without making the cut in my opinion.

Released on September 18, 2012 Beverly Hills Chihuahua 3 Viva La Fiesta in a Blu-Ray Combo Pack, DVD and Digital copy you get to visit your friends Papi and Chloe as they go on more adventures. What a fun filled, partying type of film. These chihuahua’s really know how to have fun and entertain my family!

Disc 1 – Blu-ray Feature Film + bonus

  • Hangin’ with Papi – spend the day on set with Papi
  • Living your Dreams – music video performed by Disney Channel’s Raini Rodriguez

Disc 2 – DVD Feature Film + Digital Copy of Feature Film

I am thinking I need to buy me a Blu-ray player because a lot of the fun features are on the Blu-ray copy and alas I don’t have a way to watch them. I wonder if any of my friends will let me watch some of these Disney blu-ray films on their blu-ray player?!

I say you check out Beverly Hills Chihuahua 3 and be sure to like them on Facebook to keep up to date with their latest adventures!

I received this film for free. All opinions are my own.
