Odd Pregnancy Cravings

It’s suppose to be a joyous time, you are expecting baby and this little bundle of joy is growing inside of you. At your ultra sound appointments you have to wonder, is this an alien child, for it truly is nothing but a skull shape peeking at you through this computer like screen. You watch as your belly expands, your breasts grown and you are filled with love, worry, fear and the thoughts of what if you are not ready, all at once. For me, pregnancy was not bliss, but I am having fun watching my sister grow from a woman to a mother.

In just a few short weeks I will become an auntie to one little baby girl named Olivia and I can not wait to meet this little bundle of joy. I enjoy talking to my sister, helping the best I can to alleviate some fears, worries and concerns she has over her pregnancy and new “job” of being a Mom. I think she will do just fine. I am so proud of who she has become after where she has been.  I can not think of any odd pregnancy cravings that she has shared with me, but I do recall having some of my own with my first born child.

During the pregnancy of my daughter I would often crave a toasted english muffin with scrambled eggs and peanut butter as well as American cheese on top. A PB, egg and cheese mcmuffin if you will. It was the most delicious thing to me during those pregnancy months, but makes me wanna throw up a bit in my mouth at the thought of it now.

I didn’t really crave pickles with any of the pregnancies as some do. I didn’t have any of the normal cravings, so to speak. I also started to grow a love of spicy foods while pregnant with my first born. I recall going to Chili’s Restaurant and enjoying their buffalo wings so much. It was a messy treat, but wow I could not get enough of them. I also started to use crushed red pepper on mashed potatoes, pasta and anything that made sense to me, a habit that stayed with me long after that pregnancy.

With my sons, I have a hard time remember which was what, but I do recall craving deli meat ham with one of the boys. I would purchase the deli ham shredded and eat a whole pound in one seating. It was crazy. All of that sodium and fattening ham, but it was oh so delicious. I couldn’t eat enough of it.

The cravings of a pregnant woman must always be met, for we are not the friendliest of creatures if our man is not meeting our craving needs. Yes men, that means if you have a pregnant wife or girlfriend and she is craving ice cream with pickles? You get it for her. Don’t have it in the fridge and freezer? You best be packing up and grabbing those keys to run to the store for you are about to see sweet woman turned monster in 2.0.

I ask you all, what did you crave when you were pregnant? Or what did your significant other crave while she was pregnant?

Chili’s Shout Out to Eat Out Review @margaritamad @chilis

Our family recently went to Chili’s to test out their Triple Dipper appetizer selection. Of course, we have gone to Chili’s in the past to celebrate Shout Out to Eat Out but this was different I was taking my kids not just my sister. I have always loved Chili’s, I recall when I was pregnant with my first child I loved the hot wings at Chili’s, they so far have the been hottest ever at any restaurant I have gone to.

The Triple Dipper appetizer at Chili’s is when you get to choose three different appetizers and have it as one big appetizer for your family. Since I have three kids it is so awesome to have a choice to do this type of appetizer selection. I have one child who will eat anything, one who will at least try anything and one who just loves pizza only but usually is okay about cheese things.

Yes that is the pizza king who actually loved Chili’s Chicken Crispers. We visited the West Lebanon, NH Chili’s and was very pleased with service, so much so that I looked at their W-Lebanon Twitter and Facebook information but alas, do not remember it.  If you have that information for the W-Lebanon NH Chili’s please share it with me so I can go tweet them and like them on Facebook.

My family decided on our three selections, we chose the Honey-Chipotle Shrimp, Loaded Potato Skins and the Chicken Crispers®. All selections were really yummy! A delicious choice for sure. I will say that the Honey-Chipotle Shrimp sort of tasted like chicken to me, so I don’t know if they confused shrimp with chicken but I still loved it and so did my daughter who is my partner in crime with shrimp selections.

So I must say our trip to Chili’s was fantastic & I would certainly bring my family there again. Actually, we were looking for  a Chili’s in Concord, NH on Sunday when I was coming back from my trip to NC for Type-A Parent Conference but we couldn’t find one there to have dinner on the way home.

Enjoying a Bit of Chili’s

Chilis menu

I went out to dinner at Chili’s in West Lebanon, NH with my sister one Sunday a month or two back and have yet to share my experience with you all. This is a review as well as an informative post about Chili’s and their Shout Out to Eat Out promotion. First let me tell you that I love, just love the hot wings at Chili’s and always have ever since I was pregnant with my first born who is almost 8 years old. It seems I first got my liking of spicy and hot foods during that first pregnancy and they never went away. I had gone out to dinner with my daughter’s father at Chili’s and remember how much I just loved their wings, which meant I had to get boneless buffalo wings for an appetizer!

For dinner my sister and I ordered a Shiner Bock BBQ burger and a Classic Bacon Burger. I believe it was me who had the bacon burger, can you tell with the picture of me stuffing my face how much I loved it?!

BrandyEllen stuffing FaceGood food at Chili’s for sure, well make that GREAT food. I enjoyed eating out and decided why not spoil ourselves with some dessert. I can’t recall the exact names of the desserts but Jenni (my sister) ordered some chocolate looking thing and I ordered my favorite … cheesecake! Delicious, the whole meal was absolutely amazing, the waitress was super polite and definitely practiced great customer service. I am a HUGE fan of good customer service!

So overall the experience was amazing and they had margaritas at a great price too! I was ready to order one but realized my sister can’t drive and I don’t drink and drive at all so just an FYI for those of you who want to have a good priced margarita, I think they were like $3 that day!
