Happy First Birthday to my Niece Livy

Today my niece turns one year old, I cannot believe that one year ago today I was at the hospital with limited time waiting for Miss Olivia to come to this world. I sadly missed the arrival, and she ended up having to come via c-section but I did eventually get to meet her while she was at the hospital with her Mommy.

From that first day I fell in love. I held this little baby and felt a love I never thought one could feel except with their own child. Now I know what my sister felt that first time I made her an Auntie. It’s such a loving emotion.

Baby Olivia

Spending time around Olivia was and still is important, while they live about 40 minutes away from me, I want nothing more than to have a niece who loves & knows who her Auntie is. I had an amazing Auntie growing up and know how important that relationship can be, secondary to the child’s parents of course. I visited and continue to visit Olivia frequently, along with my children and fiance.

Ki and Baby Olivia

Miss Ki was so happy to finally have a cousin on her Mom’s side and it was a girl so that was even better. After all, Ki only has two younger brothers – no sisters so when Olivia came into this world she was so excited!

Baby Olivia and Mom

My sister and Olivia are shown above, I have enjoyed watching my sister go from just a sister to a sister who is a mother. The changes I have seen in my sister over the past year amaze me. There are no words to describe the love I have for both Olivia and my sister, it goes deep within my heart and soul.

I’ll embarrass you if I wanna.

I’ll sleep if I wanna.

Today I turn the big ole 32 years of age… and I couldn’t be happier to be another year older

Each year I learn more about who I am, what I love and what it is in this world that makes me “tick”.

I welcome the 32nd year of my life with open arms.

Celebrating Turning 11 Years Old, 11 Days After Birthday

This past weekend my daughter had her 11 year birthday celebration! Some family came and her friends came. There were snacks, music, fun and laughter – cake and ice cream and presents. Miss Ki got all dressed up in my skirt and an old shirt I had given her as she waited for guests to arrive…

Birthday Girl Attire

My little girl isn’t a little girl anymore … I can’t believe she is now 11 and that next year she will be in Junior High. Sigh.

Setting Bday Table up

After Miss Ki got all dressed up she proceeded to the backyard to ensure her birthday picnic table was all set up and ready for when guests arrived. My little touch to her decor was mints with smiley faces that said “smile .. be happy”. I just couldn’t resist and she rolled her eyes as she agreed those are totally “all Mom”.

Party Mints

Among the party guests were my sister and Miss Olivia, that sweet little baby was an amazingly happy little girl the whole time.

Baby Olivia and Mom

The party went really well, Miss Ki had two girlfriends and one boyfriend as her guests from school who all got along great.  There were so many fun presents; an easel, oil paints, craft kits to create new fun jewelry and toys, as well as a Monster High Doll from my Mom and much more.

Birthday Girl

It was a very eventful day, full of so many laughing, smiling and interacting. The only issue that came up was with my seven year old son who felt that sissy’s friend who was a boy wasn’t there to hang with her and her friends. This is because my seven year old son truly believes that boys are not friends with girls, he believes this to his heart and, well, that in turn created some issues that I tried hard to keep at bay.

Happy 11th Birthday Miss Ki, it was so nice to see you smile all day long and have a beautiful celebration!

Happy Happy Birthday to my Lovely Daughter

Today my daughter turns 11!! 11 years ago around 4pm Eastern time my daughter came into this world and gave me the title of Mom. Through out the years I have watched her go from the little girl who was all full of curiosity about her world, learning to talk and walk …

I watched as my daughter started to have a mind and opinion of her own about the world. I watched and listened as she grew into such a beautiful young girl. I watched as she grew and I continue to watch and learn about who she is as an individual …

Today my wonderful daughter is 11 years old, next year she will be in Junior High and I feel that she is growing too fast. I suppose every parent feels as if their child grows too fast, but one thing I don’t feel is that we haven’t spent enough quality time together. I feel blessed to be able to spend quality time with my daughter, I feel blessed to think of her not only as a daughter, but as a friend and a teacher. My daughter teaches me new things every day and she also is a reminder of what’s positive in my life, she reminds me each day that I am a great mother, no matter how many mistakes I make as a parent, she always loves me. I also always love her no matter what, and she knows that!

So today I say HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my first born child. I hope the next year brings you success, love and happiness. I hope you continue to be your own self and not bow down to any peer pressure that may arise in these years of changes. I love you dearly daughter and I am forever here for you!

What? You Only Have Water in the Cooler? @WATAAH

No …. it’s WAT-AAH! A completely different thing, right? Well yes and no. To the kids, yes. To me, no.

WAT-AAH

The day of my two sons birthday party had arrived and the cases of WAT-AAH! were ready in the cooler with lots of ice to make sure the children and adults at the party were replenished during this hot Summer day. The sun shined down hard on this past Saturday when we hosted a birthday party for the boys. It made all of us sweat and grab for more and more water, but the thing is, WAT-AAH! being the only option in our cooler was not taken by the kids very well … at first.

WAT-AAH at party

Aj and K-man both, almost in unison were like “oh man” when I showed them where they could find drinks for their friends and their own self. I laughed, because I know my boys love WAT-AAH! but given a choice obviously they are children and would much prefer a sugary drink. I firmly believe that the label on the WAT-AAH! is what gets the kids interested and not to mention the way to spell it. While I am not 100% sure how it was meant to be pronounced, WAT-AAH! sounds really appealing to young children when you say it in an “argh matey” type of pirate voice. That is how I was able to get the kids to drink up their WAT-AAH!

drink WAT-AAH

WAT-AAH! became a fun conversational piece because of their label design and the way I pronounced it with my best pirate voice, the kids also pronounce WAT-AAH! in that tone so it was a way to intrigue their friends to take a bottle or two while in attendance at the birthday party. I felt a little like a marketing girl, promoting WAT-AAH! because most parents were asking me about “WAT-AAH! is” and checking out the label. I had a great time promoting this brand during the birthday party because I am convinced it’s worthy of my time to promote. While WAT-AAH! did send me their product for free, and I did disclose that to the party guests, I firmly believe that more parents may start looking for this on our local stores shelves. I know of one local convenience center that sells WAT-AAH! and I was super excited to see it there.  I let the parents know where I had seen this locally and to check it out. It’s such a great way to encourage water drinking with the kiddos!

You can find the locations near you that sell WAT-AAH! so that your kids can feel STRONGAAH today on the WAT-AAH! website. Also be sure to connect with WAT-AAH! on Twitter and Facebook to keep up to date with their latest fun & news.
