One Thing A Coffee Addict Does Not Want to Wake Up To

The other morning, beginning my week, I woke up to this lovely note by our coffee maker …

Coffee Machine Broke

I am not sure if the three little hearts at the bottom of this note were meant to make me smile? You see, I woke up with my kids before school, the worse time of day to not have a big ole cup of coffee. I was sad. Bummed. I may have even pouted.

A new coffee machine, even a cheap one, just wasn’t in our budget until his payday either, so all week we went without coffee. Okay my fiance didn’t go without because he is able to drink .. gasp .. instant coffee. Gag me with a spoon! I cannot handle instant coffee, but rather had hot tea all week long.

I survived. Now it’s end of week and I am ready for a coffee machine, just a cheap cheap coffee machine, whatever we can afford that gets that coffee caffeine flowing into my blood stream for a long weekend with my kiddos!

Wake Up It’s Monday …..

Get moving forward it’s another week and another day. Let’s get started, oh wait. Many of you may have today off. I know there is no school for two days here, so it will be all about the kids today and tomorrow in the Happily Blended household.

In preparation for a busy couple of days I need my coffee fix. Each day I wake up and need my coffee but one thing I have noticed that even from just one cup of coffee, granted it’s a 16oz cup of coffee, I get jitters. I am bouncing. Pace around and around and apparently talk so fast no one can understand me.

Maybe it’s time for me to take a little break from coffee, or just slow down on how much I drink. Whatever. Coffee is yummy and gets me going to keep up with these hyper children. So today, I wish you all a Happy Monday and Happy Veteran’s day too. Thank you to those who have served our country!

Coffee is my Morning Fuel

Every morning I wake up and home brew my coffee with some store bought brand and while I am sipping it I dream of making a fresh pot of coffee using gourmet coffee beans because then I would have a strong coffee fueling me for my long day of chasing children.

I currently use a regular old coffee maker and it works wonderful for me but at times I wonder what it would be like to own a Rancilio Silvia espresso machine, would it create super strong, powerful brain boosting morning cocktail for me? Of course I mean a non-alcoholic cocktail, the one that fuels a mom of three who juggles so much. I hear espresso is the way to go for the most energy!

I truly do love my morning coffee and after researching online for ways to purchase coffee and save money I have come across Roaste.com which serves up a wide variety of not only coffee beans but coffee machines for every coffee lover out there.  Purchasing coffee beans may prove to be less costly than purchasing already ground coffee in the long run, depending upon how much you consume on a daily basis. I personally have 2 travel mug sized coffee’s through out the day; one first thing in the morning when the kids wake and another when the kids are home from school.

Coffee has proven to be my energy boost and although it may not be good to consume as much as I do, it helps me move forward. I have wondered if brands like Gaggia espresso would be best suited for me as a high energy boost mid day instead of having two travel size cups through out the day of my other brand coffee.

Question for thought/discussion: Do you grind coffee beans or purchase already ground coffee?
