Have a sports nut kid in the house? I do. He is six years old and not quite sure where he got his sports addiction from because no one here nor his Dad watches sports. This kid loves soccer, football, basketball, you name it, he wants to play it. Although at age six he can only play soccer, t-ball, wrestling or basketball. This winter Basketball is going to be his sport and he is so excited!
What my six year old wouldn’t give to have mail from Sports Illustrated Kids and you can give your little sports fan this gift this holiday season for cheap!

My six year old son has always been a sports nut, not sure where the heck he gets it from but he loves all sports and Nascar as well as Monster Trucks and anything that goes fast. One day we were at my daughter’s cheer leading practice which is near the basketball courts when I told the boys I should buy them a basketball some day so when we are down there watching sissy, they can enjoy shooting hoops.
Well the boys were so excited that they ran over to their sister’s Dad to tell him how Mama is going to try to buy them a basketball so they can shoot hoops when her Dad piped up to say they had a ton up in the attic at Nana’s so maybe he could bring them one.
One day my daughter’s Dad dropped off a basketball and so the following weekend the kids and I decided on a trip down to the basketball courts to enjoy a bit of basketball together. The kids had so much fun, even though I tried to play defense with my daughter and she ended up falling, getting hurt and being mad at me for a while.
Who would have known a basketball and high school basketball courts would have brought the kids and I together for a fun filled mid day family moment? I still think about that day and it was so much fun, I hope we can do it again real soon!
Last weekend was a BBQ at my Mom’s house to celebrate her wedding day, all of the families met and it was a good time, but now I am full of the memories of things my sons say to other people that crack me up.
My son, Aj loves sports and so the basketball and basketball hoop drew us in. Together with my boy cousins Alex and Sam, we had a cute little basketball game going but alas I have three kids not one and the other two needed their Mom. I ventured off doing whatever it is I do when I am at a BBQ only to hear my aunt Michele come over laughing at my son.
Apparently, another little boy had come over to the basketball hoop while Aj was playing with my boy cousins (who are adults) and Aj look at the little boy and quite simply said “adults only are playing here”. I wish I had heard him because to know that my six year old son was referring to himself as one of the adults would have cracked me up.
Don’t worry, no other boys feelings were hurt in the process, Aj did play with the other kids too and we all had fun with the basketball but I thought it was hilarious that Michele came over to tell me what Aj had said. That’s my boy!
I haven’t ever really gotten into sports per say but my son who is four has found a love for watching baseball, basketball, hockey and football. I am a firm beliver that a boy should have a love of sports, even some girls. I know my daughter enjoys sports but not so much watching them. I have recently found out that many sports fans participate in sports betting. Have you ever participated in this?
There are so many places online where you can go to keep up to date with the latest sports picks and read details about the player and the team. I know being an East Coast chick I should love East Coast teams, but reality is I very rarely watch sports to consider myself a sports nut or fan. My son AJ though has a Boston Red Sox jersey and loves to wear it often!
I know of teams by names such as the Lakers, Boston Red Sox, Boston Bruins, etc etc but when it comes to sports information I am slightly uneducated. So do you watch sports? What are your favorite teams? Do you consider yourself a die hard sports fan?
I am very excited to be sharing with you a fantastic product for this Summer season! Get outdoors and have some fun with Coursing Around. This fun filled activity course book comes with two pieces of sidewalk chalk and a book chalked full of activities you and your children ages 4 and up can do together.
About Coursing Around
Created by Debbie Beam-Tougas in 2002 when she was recruited to teach the fitness component of a Government Subsidized overweight program for children ranging in age from 5-15. Debbie wanted to help find a way for kids to be active, social and have fun all at the same time. Debbie’s challenge was to keep the attention of kids from ages 5 to 15 for 45 min with just blacktop and at times, an outdoor basketball hoop. This is how Coursing around was born, you can read more details on what brought Debbie to this wonderful idea by reading more about Coursing Around online.
My Experience with Coursing Around
This is a product that my family has to use at the school in the driveway or at the park on the hardtop since we have nothing at our house to use it on, which sort of stinks since we do enjoy being outdoors at home the most. No matter how much all the kids dislike getting in the car during the hot Summer days they were ready and willing to get out and about to test drive Coursing Around. We had a lot of fun and even Baby K, who will be 2 in August had fun experimenting with Coursing Around with my supervision along with his two siblings. Coursing Around engaged my children to be interactive, social and have fun without a bit of arguments, any product that can encourage outdoor play time without causing a sibling rivalry moment is a fantastic product in my opinion.
I can personally say this is an amazing product and a must have for outdoor fun this Summer, I hope that you will try Coursing Around and connect with them on Twitter to keep up to date with their latest happenings.
Disclosure: I received a Coursing Around package for free from Coursing Around through Chic Execs Media in order to facilitate this review. All opinions are based on my personal experience with the product.
