Campbell's Slow Cooker Sauces Giveaway

My family received a wonderful package that included one each of the 6 varieties of Campbell’s Slow Cooker Sauces along with a 6 quart programmable slow cooker.  The exciting news is that I get to host a giveaway for one person to win this same package, but first I want to share with you the details of Campbell’s Slow Cooker Sauces in addition to sharing our thoughts based on taste testing the products.

Cambells Slow Cookers (3)

Campbell’s Slow Cooker Sauces sell for around $2.99 per pouch and are available in the following flavor choices, simply add your own meat -

  • Tavern Style Pot Roast with Mushrooms and Roasted Garlic
  • Apple Bourbon BBQ with Sweet Peppers and Brown Sugar
  • Hawaiian Luau with Pineapple, Mango and Bell Peppers
  • Sweet Korean BBQ with Roasted Ginger and Sesame
  • Mexican Red Chile Taco with Garlic and Bell Peppers
  • Moroccan Spiced Stew with Green Olives and Lemon

I made notes of which meats I needed to get during my recent grocery trip to ensure we could test out these products fully. Since my sons were doing wrestling, it was nice to have a meal ready when we got home from practices. Our first try was the Campbell’s Slow Cooker Sauces Sweet Korean BBQ with Roasted Ginger and Sesame. I placed the beef in the slow cooker, added the sauce, covered and set the timer for the allotted time. I believe it was 6-7 hours of cooking on low in the slow cooker.

Everyone loved this meal, I cooked mashed potatoes and green beans to go with the sweet Korean BBQ, I also placed the meat over egg noodles. It was a meal to enjoy after a long day of parenthood, working from home and being the Mama taxi driver for my family.

I happened to run across a buy one get one free deal on boneless, skinless chicken breast so I thought I would switch out the pork for chicken in the Hawaiian Luau with Pineapple, Mango and Bell Peppers. This was a hit, my daughter was ooing and awwing over this decision. The fiance enjoyed it but thinks that this sauce definitely would have been better with pork. Can’t win them all, I can say my daughter talked about it for days after I created the meal with chicken instead of pork. We still have other varieties here to test out, but so far we think this is a great product to keep busy households fed well without taking more time in the kitchen.

Buying a Grill Online Couldn’t Be Easier

One of the best times to buy a grill is during the tax free time, when many online merchants offer specials that make your dollar go a lot longer. But when you’re buying a grill, it’s a good idea to take your time and do your research. Sales tax break or not, it’s a big ticket purchase and you’re going to want to make the best choice.

Decide Which Type of Grill

One of the first decisions you need to make is figuring out which grill is best for you. A charcoal grill gives food a distinctive smoked flavor and requires time to get going. You can add different types of wood to give the food a particular flavor. Of course, you’ll need to make sure you get rid of the ashes regularly. Gas grills burn cleaner and are less expensive over time than charcoal grills. You’ll need to make sure you have a local supplier of liquid propane or natural gas ready and stored safely. Gas grills ignite quickly and can be directly hooked into a natural gas line to minimize the chance of running out of fuel. While most are safe, these types of grills do require special care if they don’t ignite properly. Electric grills are for those who can’t use a gas or charcoal grill, which makes them ideal for apartment living.

Purpose of the Grill and Accessories

In addition to figuring out the type, you’ll need to know how you plan to use the grill and if you’ll need any accessories. If you’re planning to cook smaller foods like chicken breasts, fish, or steaks for a few friends, then you won’t need to shop for a full service grill. But if you have the space to host full on barbecue parties, then you’ll need to think about outdoor accessories. If you really want to go all out, save up a little money and look for coupons like $20 off Patio Furniture, Grills and Lawn and Garden Orders of $200 with which you can create your own entirely unique back yard experience.

Finding the Best Deal

Once you’ve done your research, finding great online deals is just icing on the cake. Take some time to compare prices on sites like Pricegrabber.com. You can even hunt for special online ads from your local stores. When buying online, make sure you take into consideration all the shipping and handling charges along with coupons or store discounts. The great thing is that checking out the prices in store while shopping online will help you figure out which method is more economical. It may be that while the online store may be a bit pricier, there may be more coupons available to offset the cost as many stores work hard to get more customers online.

You may be able to bypass the shipping charge by shipping your purchase to the store. In many if not all cases, the shipping is waived. Some stores may charge extra to assemble your grill for you but more stores are doing away with that in favor of providing assembly free to some or all customers. Buying big ticket items online can help you save because with the increased competition, big name stores are bending over backwards to get more customers.

Bring the BBQ Inside if Weather Doesn’t Permit

I didn’t really have any huge plans for this weekend other than attempting to have a BBQ at my Dad’s at some point with my boyfriend, my sister and her baby girl. Today was the day for that but the weather was not allowing for a BBQ and so we headed out to pick up the sister and my niece for a warm cooked meal. And boy did Dad cook, I wouldn’t expect anything less. A meal for many King’s was provided and I barely ate one hotdog, macaroni salad and potato salad along with a couple pickles and drank some mountain dew.

Baby Olivia

I got to hug and love my baby niece who is just adorable! I love her so much. This is Baby Olivia in a half smirk at me, I swear she smiled for me finally quite a few times today. It’s so much fun to spend time with her and my sister! Next up we have the barn cat over at Dad’s aka the Farm and this cat wouldn’t stop yowling at me for some reason, maybe he wanted me to feed him.

I also had to capture a cute picture of my Dad’s rooster this is Big Red, I do believe his name is and he is a riot. Always checking out what his human friends are doing and follows you around.

Big Red the Rooster

While we were unable to have a BBQ outdoors it was nice to stay inside and mingle a bit over good cartoon movies such as Over the Hedge and others and just be chill on this fine three day holiday weekend. Not sure what tomorrow has in plan, but probably  more packing and organizing. It will be the last morning for me to be able to sleep in before having schedules get back to normal so hopefully I will sleep in but if not, I shall survive.

Hope you all are having a wonderful weekend!

Always Focus on What you Have and What you Deserve

Happy Friday everyone!

We are heading into a holiday weekend, it’s Memorial Day weekend. A three day weekend here but my children will be off having a blast with their Dad’s. I get to enjoy a nice BBQ with my Dad, the boyfriend, my sister and her baby girl this weekend at some point.

Happy Friday thankful for what you have

In the meantime I will be packing boxes, labeling them and tossing out stuff into a free pile, but all the while having a blast!

Enjoy the weekend and always be thankful for what you DO have in life! <3

A Lovely Weekend Has Come to an End

Yesterday was a wonderful day, my little sis got all married up. Friday night we had a barbeque at a friends house and then Saturday evening my sister got married, which meant another BBQ. Good times were had and today is the day to recoup from a long weekend of fun times. I wanted to take a moment to share with you all a picture of my sister and her new hubby with our long time friend Athena, and the groom’s long time friend Mike.

The event was lovely. Full of laughter and cheer! Family was there to watch as Jenni, my little sis, took the plunge into marriage. Jenni was found laughing often and having a great time. Hopefully today she rests up to make sure those twins in her belly get some rest after a fun filled evening at the farm!

May you all enjoy your Sunday and I hope you all had as lovely a weekend as my family did!
