We are all told to create goals; what do you want out of life? What is it you want from your business? What is it that you hope to gain from your blog? And the list goes on, but have you ever thought about what it is you really want in life? You see goals are a great tool for your business and personal life, however, truly envisioning you reaching for such things you desire requires a deeper level of thought process minus the “how”.
I am talking about a Vision Board – pardon me for getting all excited about this concept but I finally watched The Secret, a documentary I had wanted to watch for a long time. The reason I am so intrigued with The Secret is because it’s about the Law of Attraction; what you think inside of your mind sends out waves to the universe which in turn eventually manifest into real life. The Law of Attraction is the science type term for this way of thinking but I’ve always called it “thinking happy thoughts”. Whenever I needed something or really really wanted something I started thinking about it all of the time, whether it was a better situation I had hoped to be in or an actual item, heck sometimes it’s even income, I always ended up having these “happy thoughts” come true.
I had never knew about The Law of Attraction when I made the decision to redirect my mindset to positive things, to truly feel as if I would have everything I wanted, needed and desired. I knew my mind was powerful, but honestly I hadn’t a clue just how powerful it was until that fine day I started training my brain to redirect to positive thoughts, redirecting my thoughts to a place where I wanted to be, where I was going to be, what I was going to have, etc etc, and it all came true!
Can you imagine the odd looks I got when someone once asked me “how do you always end up getting what it is you need or want?” and I replied “I just think happy thoughts!” .. yes people I got some odd looks and some people probably to this day think I am a bit crazy to firmly believe our thoughts, a simple change in mindset, can redirect our lives on a journey of receiving everything you most desire, but I believe it with my whole heart for I have seen my thoughts manifest into reality more often than not.
The problem I have at this moment is that I keep getting sidetracked from my visions in life, the things I want, need and desire in life, so I decided to create a Vision Board. A Vision Board is a tad different than setting a goal chart up or a life list; you see a Vision Board are things that you really want in your life. It doesn’t matter if it’s a new car, more money or a house, whatever it is that you desire needs to be put on your vision board.
I finally created my Vision Board and have it on my computer office desk so that it’s the first thing I will see each morning I log on my computer to work! The vision board will assist in giving you a visualization of what it is you want, don’t worry about how you are going to attain these things, the universe will manifest these things. It may take hours, days, months or years, who knows, but if you keep this vision board handy, truly believe and feel as if you already have these things you desire, they will come but you can not lose that train of thought that you will one day have these things, for the moment you stop truly feeling as if these things will be yours; the universe feels your thought waves and down goes the chances of you ever getting your hands on your vision board desires.
Have you ever created a vision board? What are some things you would put or do have on a Vision Board?
My first born and only daughter is a fabulous cook, well baker. That girl can bake way better than me, it’s always a joke that if someone is going to make one of our family member’s birthday cakes that Miss Ki better do it for Mom will end up ruining it. It’s the fun joke around our home, and yes I can laugh at myself so it’s all in fun!
My second born is a stereotypical boy, has zero interest in the kitchen and that’s just fine by me. He excels in other areas, but my youngest child, a boy, loves baking, cooking and helping me in the kitchen whenever possible. I love that Monster K can calm his energy long enough to bake cupcakes, mix up scrambled eggs or even help with pancake batter mixing.
We have so much fun when his brother and sister are at school baking various things to enjoy as an after school treat when we picked up the other two from school. This particular day we made cupcakes and I chose a cool type of frosting so that Monster K could frost the cupcakes on his own.
The best part about cupcakes is the frosting and that is where this boy takes right after his Mama…
Every so often I find someone debating whether they should get a landline phone in addition to their cell service or not, the truth is that landlines are just about as expensive as having a cell plan these days! There is another option for someone looking to have a home or business line in addition to a cell phone plan, business VoIP. VoIP is a fabulous, money saving option to have a home phone while still keeping up with your cell phone bill.
There are many options to VoIP out there on the market and it’s up to you to do the research to ensure you are getting the best for your money. I personally use VoIP and have for many years, it has proven to be extremely reliable and gives me an additional line instead of having to rely on cell coverage that can be somewhat unreliable. The location I live in at the moment does not seem to like giving me reliable cell service, however, the VoIP line is consistent and doesn’t cut out on my phone calls as with my cell phone which doesn’t like living up here too far from the center of town.
Even when I lived back in the center of town in the home I previously owned, I tested out VoIP for the first time with much success. I wasn’t quite ready for a cell plan but needed to have a line for my virtual assistant business and so VoIP was the most affordable option at the time. I had read pros and cons about VoIP and some companies, if they hire you as an employee, prefer you to have a traditional landline phone, but if you are your own boss, I would say VoIP would go a long way for you.
I wouldn’t ever go back to the old school landline for the cost does not outweigh the savings & steady service I get with my VoIP service.

Ring the wedding bells, chime in for a wonderful small ceremony, clap your hands and jump up for joy .. my little sister is getting married! I am excited for her and honestly wasn’t quite sure this day would ever happen. I loved watching her and her fiance grow together over these past few years and I do believe he is the one for her. They are meant to be and so it comes with a great happiness that I can announce my little sister is getting married!
This picture is me with my little sister, who yes towers over me a little bit. Although she is four years younger than me she was lucky in that she could always pass for the older sister, which you can imagine was “fun” for her during her teen years. I have watched my sister grow into a woman over the years and can honestly say I am so proud of who she is becoming and what she has accomplished. Currently she is attending online courses to get her degree in Psychology with a B average and I couldn’t be more proud!
We are looking forward to many more years of chasing down my sister and her fiance at the farm. Watching as they unite in Vermont on our family farm, the place most of my Dad’s side of the family was born, a friendly place with welcoming arms. I look forward to watching my sister join in matrimony with this man who has hung around our crazy family for so long!
Cheers to my sister, Jenni and her almost husband – Al. I love you both!
My daughter had never been to a normal eye doctor, she has only received the eye exams her pediatrician gives her each year as well as the one that is done in school each year. This was the year that her exam from school came back as concerning and we had to take her to an eye doctor.
So we scheduled an appointment for Miss Ki to get her eyes checked. The eye doctor said for sure she needed glasses. Her vision is 20/50 in her right eye and 20/70 in her left eye, or at least somewhere near those numbers. I forgot the exact numbers but believe that to be correct.
I was a bit concerned with whether Ki would be happy about having to wear glasses or not, but so far so good. Ki picked out a cute set of frames and within one week had her very own glasses! Thankfully Ki is a child who has a few friends with glasses so it probably helped assist in her being more accepting of these new things. With peer pressure, mean girls and more going on in school at this age, all I feared was that the glasses would make it worse.
Ki is enjoying her new glasses but is now on the hunt for a stylish case and of course anything else she can do to make her glasses fit her diva self persona!
