  1. These are all great ideas. A proposal is one of the biggest things that will ever happen to any of us. Make it memorable!

  2. I hope when I am proposed to, it will something special and romantic. I like thinking outside of the box.

  3. Great tips for engagements! Getting engaged is such a memorable time, you want it to be perfect. It’s important to remember that you don’t have to do everything everyone else does, like have a big diamond.

  4. I love the idea of switching up the classic engagement scenario. My husband and I were kind of lame and basically mutually decided to get married. We will celebrate ten years together next month!

  5. My husband proposed to me in the park where we went on our first date! We had gone to a really expensive restaurant earlier that week and he didn’t propose there, so I was really shocked when he proposed during our picnic lunch!

  6. I am starting to see more and more girls take the step to ask their man to marry them. I think that is really cool. My last married, his daughter asked me “will you marry us?” It was super cute.

  7. When my husband proposed to me, one of the first things that I ask him afterwards was how much he paid for the engagement ring. I was happy to find out that he didn’t go in debt for it. I would not have appreciated that. I do think sometimes less is more. This was one of those times.

  8. I think it’s great to hear that more and more girls are willing to propose. Who says that the man should be the one to ask? These are great ideas!

  9. I love these ideas for engagements! It’s nice to stray away from tradition and just do things the way you and your significant other want to do it. Make your own traditions this way!

  10. Love all your tips here! Nothing can be more romantic when you see the sincerity from your loved one’s eyes.

  11. Such great ideas! We didn’t do the traditional he ask…. we talked about it and then we got the ring lol. It wasn’t a big deal, but that was over 10 years ago now and I think I would feel differently now and want something special!

  12. I just wonder what the man’s reaction would be if it would be the woman who’d drop the question. I’d probably do that on our Golden Wedding anniversary. 🙂

  13. What interesting ideas! I actually am not ok with a woman proposing just not right…but the other ideas are nice. I was just thinking it would be nice to finally find a great guy who would propose to me one day so keeping my hopes up!

  14. You’re right, with social media in play, people are now competing with each other! It’s important to think about what’s special for the both of you, it could be really simple but still romantic for you both.

  15. I actually asked my husband to marry me. I just could not wait anymore! He was taking so long, I could not stand it!

  16. I think the problem with most couples with no.2 issues stems from the fact that the man has to be financially ready to be the default bread winner. It can really work both ways, and in my opinion it doesn’t matter who goes first and when, ultimately both will feel it.
