These kids of mine have already ventured into the pool at my Dad’s home in Vermont. Yes. They did. The pool was about 70 degrees. Of course, me being the parent I am, told them only dip your feet. Seriously, what was I thinking? Dip your feet means get in the water up to your chest, which turned into my Dad saying to me, “what are you talking about? If they can put their feet in then they can get in!” Leave it to Dad … so in they went.

Kicking off Summer Early

So the kids… decided to listen to Grampa because Mom is chop liver when big ole Grampa is around ;)

I love that all three kids were having a blast, after all they hadn’t slept very well the night before. I worked 10-12 on Saturday morning and knew the kids had to get out of the house that day. I figured what better place than Grampas! It’s all farm land with obviously this pool too. Once we arrived and the van was stopped, we all were at peace. I love it!

I adore that Aj was smiling, laughing and joking away with everyone. It was a fun time for all and Miss Olivia was there too with my sister …

Shown above is Miss Livy hanging onto Grampa’s hand while my sis is in the background watching her little baby girl walk around with Gramps.

It was a beautiful day full of swimming, chatting, laughing and walking out to the barn to see the cow as well as behind Grampa’s to see the piggies. I can’t wait for some food from those piggies!

The pool was warm to the kids, but it was too early for this Mama to be hopping in. Have you gone in an outdoor pool yet this year?

Your dad’s place does sound awesome. I suspect the most awesome part about it is your dad. ;)

We went to the beach last weekend, and the little one was all the way in the water (Lake Michigan is not warm ;) ). He loved it though…and we were right beside him but only up to our calves/knees.

Yowza! They’re brave! My kids probably would’ve done the same but not me! I need good 90+ degree weather and warmer water!

Kids have a much higher tolerance for low water temperatures than we do. It has to be nearly hot tub temps for me to take a dip.

Whew I have trouble getting into a pool when it’s 82. 70 would have been a heck no! lol

If you can’t bet them, join them! Jump in!
The picture with your dad and little daughter is the best, award winning I would say!

All of my northern relatives will come and go in the pool during Florida winter. I think they’re nuts!

Pools are so much fun – safety rules are #1 – the kids know Nana is not joking – she seriously will make you get out if you do not follow the rules.

There is nothing more fun that going to the pool during the hot summer months. If it’s at gramps house, even better :)

We’ve been hitting the pool for a couple of weeks here in Atlanta. It looks like everyone had a great time…and don’t be too hard on Grandpa!

I know the pool is going to be super popular over here too. We have some serious water babies!

I got in the water at an outdoor pool in Savannah last week. It was 90 degrees outside and I had a bit of liquid courage to help me out!

Yes, the first time lounging around a pool since the late 90’s. Felt odd laying out in the sun with no children in a bikini. Not the same girl I was many years ago LOL.

Our neighborhood pool has been open for a few weeks and we can’t get our kids out! They are so ready for summer and for it to be warm every day!

When I was a kid, I could do that. Not anymore. I am a total cold wimp. That’s why I stay in Florida.
