Auntie B’s Picky Eater Applesauce #recipe #foodie #apples #Autumn #Fall

Do you have that one picky eater in the family? The child who will live on everything but what he/she should live on? Yea. I have one of those. PB & J for lunch or ramon noodles. Chicken nuggets drenched in ketchup and honey.  Chips. Cheese Doodles. Cheese. Any ” real meals” you can about forget him to like, but when it comes to sweetness, he will usually try and like that item.  The picky eater tried Mama’s home made applesauce and he liked it .. he really liked it! I am now sharing my picky eater applesauce recipe with you all to test with your family …

Auntie B's Picky Eater Applesauce
A simple, easy to make applesauce recipe for picky eater families.

  1. 1/4 bushel of McIntosh apples - approximately 15-20 medium/large apples
  2. 1/4 cup of granulated sugar
  3. 1 tablespoon of cinnamon
  4. 1/2 cup of water
  1. Take the apples, peel and core them. Cut apples into cubes approximately 1" in size.
  2. Place cubed apples into a pot large enough for all of the apple cubes with 1/4" gap from top of apples to top of pot.
  3. Add water and cinnamon to the apple chunks in pot.
  4. Turn stove onto medium/high heat and stir occasionally to mix up the cinnamon among the apples evenly.
  5. Heat until apples are soft and nearly all mashed; this takes about 20 - 30 minutes.
  6. Mash apples as they cook, stir more often as the mixture begins to "look like" applesauce.
  7. Remove from stove top once you have achieved the texture that appears close to applesauce.
  8. Optional: mash until smooth or leave "chunky" to make a chunky texture applesauce.
  1. You may enjoy this hot or cold, but be sure to let cool off before handing to children so as to avoid mouth being burned. Place in fridge for four hours prior to serving if you prefer chilled applesauce.

I have a picky eater! I wish that wasn’t true, but it is and it’s hard to get healthy food into that child, but I keep trying.

Thank you for the Picky Eater Applesauce Share. :)
