We had a Budget rental truck all reserved from online to pick up at a local place here for our Friday move. Everything seemed to be lining up great when Friday came, the closing ended and here we were ready to move things but the truck we had reserved was not at the local Budget pick up. The local place that we had to go for pick up of our online reserved Budget truck stated that the online site had done this to them six times this past week, leaving them with bad business and upset customers.

Budget Rental Truck

Thankfully the local place did have one truck we could use in place of the reserved one that they simply did not have, only thing was that it had to be returned earlier than our reservation was for and was a smaller truck than we had reserved. Le sigh.

As upset as we were with the online Budget rental truck company, which we need to call and let them know how we feel still … we were thankful our local pick up place allowed us to take a truck they had, even if it was for less of time and a smaller truck. That was something we were thankful for.

After packing up the first budget truck, we found we only had time for one trip as the truck had to be back. This totally sucked. We wanted all of our stuff out of old house into new house on Friday so that we had two full weekend days to unpack and organize. Mind you, we had five kids during this whole process and we had hoped for it to be quick, hence why we reserved a BIG Budget truck and for later time frame.

Moving in NH Rental Truck

Le sigh.

We ended up having to not only deal with the poor reservation for Budget but then run around town late Friday evening to try to find a new rental truck because we needed one… finally we got lucky and a local Penske dealership was open with a truck we could rent for remainder of weekend. They saved the day and by Saturday evening I do believe we had everything from old house to the new house.

To be continued….

Glitches like that stink!! Your attitude about it seems good though, better than it would have been over at my place, for sure. :)
