I occasionally think back to the day I got married, it was a lovely occasion with a small handful of family and friends. Turns out J and I didn’t have many friends and I had more family than he, but it was a fun filled event. A close friend of J’s was put in charge of dealing with our music, although no one really heard it and I can’t recall what song we decided to play when the walk from home down the grass to the “alter” in the backyard was but the moment was fun. I remember having a smile that no one could wipe off of my face that day and it wasn’t due to the elderberry wine from my father either.
I planned the whole ordeal, wedding and get together afterwards on my own in about three months time. I wasn’t stressed out about it and it was a relaxed event. We didn’t make wedding save the date cards but rather we created our own invites and notices to mail out to family with our own computer program, yes Microsoft Word or Publisher.
The event was simple, small and exciting enough to keep a smile on both mine and J’s face the whole time. I don’t believe either of us have smiled and felt that relaxed around each other in a long time. Cheers to the memories that we hold close to our hearts!
Whether you are married or apart, what do you remember about your wedding day?

It was more then 10 years ago. I remember it took about 1 year to plan and book the places in advance, get the photos taken, sort out the guest list etc. We even decorate the car on the day of the wedding itself and it really took a lot of effort to co-ordinate everything as we had celebrations across two countries.
