The three year old has answers to every single thing you say to him. All too often, since giving birth to boys I have joked about duct tape for use as a parenting tool, or maybe more like a fun disciplinary tactic? Either way, it’s totally a joke as I doubt I even own duct tape let alone would ever use it on my children {and they realize this}. My three year old decided it would be really cool to tell my foot it better be watching out because he is jumping around in Mama’s boots and my foot should not be in the way to get stomped on. Lovely child.
I let the three year old know that he best be telling me sorry for he shouldn’t be stomping on his Mama’s sock foot because it hurts. If he proceeds to stomp around like a crazy dude then maybe I will duct tape you to the wall so that Mama can get some dishes done while keeping her toe-toes safe. The three year old then goes on to say ….. “silly Mama duct tape is for walls, it doesn’t work on people and actually I will just take it off me”.
So much for thinking I had this little one as my “baby” forever… he is growing up to be a smart little big boy, even if that smart is more sarcasm than intelligence at times. I happen to think if you are smart enough to have a clever sarcastic reply then you truly must be intelligent as I know it takes a lot of smarts to be that quick witted.
