I was thinking over the weekend about things I have missed out on since starting to blog more and working with more brands. Once you start growing your blog to be an income platform it seems you stop doing the things you enjoyed doing online when your blog was simply a place to share thoughts & experiences.
One thing I used to do all of the time when I first started blogging was enter giveaways. I won so many cool things by entering other blog giveaways and it was nice winning things without having to do work behind the scenes for them. Of course entering giveaways can be a chore and I haven’t been keeping my eyes out for things that I really want to win so it hasn’t been worth my time to enter them.
I have recently found an interest in giveaways, one of the reasons is because I really want some new electronics such as an iPad or a Nook, heck I would even love to win a Kindle. Of course I could do the work and try to work with the brands behind these products but then I would have to complete research and when I get the product do a thorough review, which I am not opposed to the review portion but it’s hard work to research and get in touch with the marketing directors or PR firm for some of the brands I wish to really work with.
Right now I am looking into building my blog team up so that I have a couple writers on my team to do reviews and such. This is a way for me to branch out and build my blog bigger and better. My one true passion is helping others see that I am real, I have challenges but I still choose to think positive and smile. When one chooses to think positive and smile, they always succeed in life. I completely believe in this positive thinking theory because I have seen it work in my own life. I want to bring on other personal writers who truly believe in this theory so that they can share their own stories with you all.
I am making a plan with myself to start doing things online I used to love doing; entering giveaways, commenting more frequently on the blogs I love and networking more on Facebook with friends I have made through the years of being online.
I used to comment daily if not at least every other day on MomDot, MomStart, A Nut in a Nutshell and Simply Being Mommy among just some of my faves and I miss reading their stuff. Now I catch a glimpse in my inbox but usually am too caught up in work and parenting that I don’t get to really read their writing and comment.
What is something you miss since blogging more?
I haven’t taken my blog to the level that some have. In fact I’m still working out the kinks, but trying to blog and make money from doing so is a full time job in and of itself! I found myself a groove in that I set aside time each morning to do my blogging stuff. Sometimes I get behind when I wait until that morning to write something though. Now I’m considering opening another blog. One for local stuff. Ack, I will have no time for anything! haha
Good luck to you! Hope everything works out well!
I remember I won a lot of really cool things when I first started blogging also.
