Mentoring Minds is a website that offers teaching strategies for teachers, I would think that home school parents would be able to benefit from these strategies as well. I have a child, my first born to be exact, that will succeed at all standardized testing because she is that “book smart” child like I was growing up, however, these testing ways are hard on other children and I do think that my first born son (middle child) may not do well with this type of testing.
I love teachers, but they must keep up with teacher education because life changes as much as teaching styles should be changing. Today’s child is totally different than the child I grew up being. Are you a home school parent? What do you do to keep up with the standards in education as they change?
I have a fantastic contest to share for the teacher you love:
Tell Mentoring Minds what makes your teacher special to potentially win them one of two (2) $250 gift certificates for teaching strategies and supplies from Mentoring Minds.

My kids have both had an amazing teacher for 5th grade. Laura Bobryk at Franklin Elementary in Riverside, CA is amazing in every way! If you could clone teachers she’d be the perfect mold. All types of learners find success in her room. She looks for ways to make kids successful in areas they struggle in order to build confidence and bring the low kids up to proficient. She has an amazing way to make the strong students feel needed and keeps them from feeling bored. She spends so much of her own time developing lessons that are fun and engaging. She spends lots of her own money to make her classroom the comfortable home away from home that it is. She really is the best teacher on Earth! She
Sounds amazing Lisa! I would invite you to click on the image or Mentoring Minds Contest link within this blog post and fill out the contest entry form! This is a great way to give her a great gift!
