I was a great student in school but social studies wasn’t a particularly favorite topic of mine so when trying to teach my children at home, because even though my children do and will attend public schools, I like to teach at home in my spare time as well.
I was searching around for social studies lesson plans for my children one day and happened upon the website Studies Weekly. This would be a great resource for teachers as well as parents. Teaching children is so vitally important, they are our future.
I took a moment to search for lesson plans for grade K in NH and found some amazing lesson plans that I know my son would be interested in. Next I searched for some social studies lesson plans for my daughter, she is advanced for her age so I started to search both grades 4 and 5 since I know her current grade is a bit below her real academic level. Searching for higher level grades returned more search results and was an easy search process.
I know that over the Summer I may certainly take to looking into some lesson plans to keep the education going through Summer on a part time basis for my children. Studies Weekly has their site set up in an easy to navigate way, even for those who may not be as Internet savvy.
