A Corkscrew, a Cork, Wine and Me

The other night I was able to taste test the Best Bargain Wine which was a bottle of 2009 malbec red wine. After a long fight and some Facebook conversations about how to use a corkscrew I was able to open the wine.

Can you tell those are Mama had a long, rough day eyes? Oh yes they are so when I had to fight with a corkscrew because I haven’t ever had “real” wine with a cork before I started laughing at myself before I enjoyed a sip of this wine.

I was certainly expecting a real wine sort of taste but wasn’t sure if the taste of the malbec red wine would be bitter or sweet. I think this wine is a bit more bitter than sweet. The malbec red wine has some dishes shared on AllRecipes.com that will show you what recipes to pair up with malbec so I think my next glass will come with a good slow cooker beef stew meal!

Pinot Noir or a good Cab-sauv are always my favorites. I’ve had a Malbec before and you’re right, it is much drier.

Sigh . . .so jealous. I’d love to drink some wine!

Oh, I think I caught the end part of the FB convo… I rarely drink, but have had wine & champagne. red wine gives me an instant headache, but I have had some whites I like, when I was still working I would enjoy a glass after work, before bed… I usually got home between 11 & midnight.
