Is Winter over yet? The time is coming when flowers will start blooming and rain begins to fall, this is called Spring time and is one of my favorite times of year. The kids and I will get out our creative ideas and enjoy the non-rainy days.
I have no idea what to do with Original Cheerios and seasonal ingredients this spring but that is what I am to write about today as part of the Cheerios Blogger Circle.
I sat and contemplated, what would this mom do with three children ages 8, 4 and 2 with Original Cheerios this Spring? Then it hit me, feed the birds while feeding ourselves?
How about this, we take one box of Cheerios…
Then we take some of my embroidery floss that is used to make friendship bracelets. Whatever shall we do with embroidery floss and Cheerios to feed the birds and feed the kids?
I plan to make strings of Cheerios to hang from our bird feeder, the birds must love Cheerios as much as the kids love them and this would be a great Spring afternoon activity.
String Cheerios onto embroidery floss, assisting the children while we munch on the Cheerios and when each string is done we gently hang it on the perch of our bird feeder. Next the kids and I will sit down at the picnic table with a bowl full of Cheerios and make Cheerio necklaces, much like candy necklaces but oh so much more healthy!
The kids will have laughter, and cheers when the birds come to sneak a bite of the Cheerio necklaces and I will be one proud Mama for sharing nature and healthy food with my children.
So what would you do if given Original Cheerios in springtime and the option to use seasonal ingredients to create a spring time moment with your children?

I think I would do something similar to that. You could also stick them onto peanut butter pinecones!
