What a Weekend {kid free}

This weekend was the first time or second time actually that I ever mowed my lawn. My ex had always done it, well actually it used to grow so long that the kids couldn’t play in the backyard before my ex would get to it. The reason being I guess was that the lawn mower was always breaking down and he couldn’t fix it or something. So last week I had my daughter’s Dad take my cheap pusher mower and fix it, let me tell you what I was so happy when he told me the lawn mower was fixed and he dropped it off Friday night to me!

Now my push mower is a pull start, I haven’t ever been real good at starting things that require a pull start, but I started it on my own Saturday and ended up flooding it out after stopping to haveĀ  a water and cigarette break (someday I will quit those nasty cigarettes). Sunday came and my lawn hadn’t been mowed so I got up, showered, put shorts & a tank top on to venture out into my backyard with oil on my arms and legs for tanning purposes to get my lawn completely mowed. I didn’t get the side lawn and front lawn but I did get the most important part of my lawn completed which is the kids play area. I raked after mowing and ended up with blisters on my hands which makes it hard for me to grip onto anything now!

Saturday night I learned how to play cribbage again, I had previously played many years ago when Ki was a baby but hadn’t touched the game in years. I had a blast playing but my math skills need some boost, funny how math used to be my best subject (and most favorite) but now I am not so great at it! Probably had something to do with drinking a few Bud Lights while playing cribbage, but I don’t know, can’t really blame the couple drinks as it’s not fair to do so!

I lost my Internet Saturday night and that sucked, but Sunday I woke up and was able to get it all fixed, thank heavens! Then Monday rolled around and I woke up early with so much energy I don’t know what to do! Do I run a marathon? Do I play in the rain? Do I sing in the shower? I don’t know … but what I do know is today is a happy day and I am so excited to have a boost of energy after such a hot weekend!

Question for Thoughts: So what did you do this weekend? Was the weather hot or rainy and icky for you?

    our lawnmower broke two weeks ago – the cord that you pull ripped right in half! We had to borrow my brother-in-law’s this weekend to mow our lawn. Good times.

  4. [...] I mowed my lawn on Saturday, which I wrote about last night and so now our backyard looks so nice you can’t resist going back there and enjoying some family time. Some items I really want for my backyard are an enclosed area to sit in to have lunch, dinners or snack in the backyard, a picnic table for adults (have 2 for kids), a swing-set added to our wooden tower, a blow up pool of some sort, and some toys for my sweet AJ and Princess Ki so they can enjoy the outdoors as well.
